What we liked?...
1) The owners Mike and Barbara greeted us with smiles as we drove in. Barbara showed us to our room, explained the keyless entry system, and gave my husband & me a tour of the amazing historic manor. The owners were friendly and informative throughout our stay. (We feel like we have gained 2 more friends.)
2)The house is clean and well kept, and very beautiful, with a lot of ornate woodwork and stained glass, period The well manicured grounds were interesting to look at.
3) The peace and quiet; it made us feel like we were staying at Grandmother's house. We slept very well both nights. The bed was quite comfortable. The shower strong and hot. The A/C worked well. NO STREET NOISE. Our room was upstairs. It had a covered balcony facing the west. It was nice to sit out there after dark to chat and unwind after a busy day with family events.
4) Convenient and walkable location to downtown, ETX craft brewery, and the Cathedral. Short drive to the Rose Garden and other venues.
5) Personalization... We had some activities that we had to leave early each morning, and they accommodated our schedule with our request for an earlier light breakfast, and the next day, a simple grab and go sack breakfast and coffee to go. The food was fresh, tasty, and delightful. The "go sack" had fresh fruit and a wonderful homemade english muffin with a soft poached egg. YUM!
6) Safety- Fenced yard and parking, key code entry into house.
*We would stay here again when in Tyler.*
