Holiday house Unterschächen for 6 - 8 persons with 4 bedrooms - Holiday house
ED Ref. 1558036
Holidays in the monument combines heritage preservation and tourism. Historically valuable construction tools are taken over, gently renovated and rented as holiday apartments. The model makes a double profit: the monuments get a new future and holidaymakers experience a stay in an extraordinary building. The idea is realized by the foundation Ferien im Baudenkmal (FiB), which was founded in 2005 by the Swiss Homeland Security.
Parking: Directly at the house and not covered. The access to the house is guaranteed.
Public transport: The bus stop is 50 meters away.
Number of persons 4-8: There is a cot (up to 2 years) available. The house sleeps four to eight guests (plus baby). The house can be entered from both arbors. These lead directly into the high smoke kitchen with adjoining very modern kitchen. From the smoke kitchen, it goes into the cozy dining room and the behind Stipli (small adjoining room) with comfortable sofa. Also from the smoke kitchen away leads a small staircase into a double room. A steep staircase leads to the 2nd Floor. There are three double bedrooms and a bathroom with shower / WC. On the east gazebo on the ground floor there is also a separate toilet. The house can only be rented for four people and is therefore cheaper. The floors are made of wood so we recommend good slippers.
Garden: Two covered arbours provide space for the garden table and the chairs. Also the house is preceded by a gravel place, where of course also can be stayed. The view from the garden over meadows in the impressive Brunnital which is wedged by rugged mountain flanks.
Wi-Fi: not available.
Open: The house can be rented all year round.
Pets: Pets are allowed.
Height: 1000 meters above sea level.
STSSIHOFSTATT - Medieval block building of the Gotthard type
History & Information
The Stüssihofstatt is a two-storey block building with a flat pitched roof over a low rocky stone base. The construction corresponds to the Gotthard type with a cross passage and is accessible from both eaves sides. The house dates from 1450. The dendrochronological dating has also shown that the Stüssihofstatt is from the threshold to the ridge beam in the state of construction. That a medieval construction has survived so completely and unchanged to this day is extraordinary. The renovation work completed in June 2014 gave the Hofstatt a new lease of life. Equipped with modern kitchen and sanitary facilities and complemented by Swiss design classics, a charming combination of history and present was created.
renovation
Responsible for the renovation was the architect Hanspeter Odermatt, who led the work in close cooperation with the Uri preservation of historical monuments and the greatest respect for the historical substance. The aim was to preserve the character of the house as much as possible. This also included existing traces of use such as the well-worn soils or the crusty corridor to get. The holiday guests should be able to experience the atmosphere of a Urner Hofstatt, but also feel the history of the house and its inhabitants.
GROUND FLOOR: On the ground floor in the room and in the Stipli, the existing Täferwände and ceilings were restored and maintained. The blackened entrance and kitchen area was opened to a two-storey, spacious and central room and shows up in its original height. From here, the contemporary kitchen and a first guest room in the former chamber is developed.
UPPER FLOOR: In addition to the original staircase to the east-facing chambers - one serves as a guest room, the second as a bathroom, opens up a second steeper staircase, the two western chambers on the upper floor. The resulting situation with the two verandas appears interesting in terms of space and lets us feel the restored height of the room.
FACADE: The building retains the village image as a cultural heritage. For the repair of the facade cladding and the arbours with the Räiti new wood was used, which is currently in contrast with the historical building material in contrast. Intentionally, however, artificial weathering and patina were abandoned. The entrances with staircases and fountains serve the access and the environment design and have also been refurbished.
IMPORTANT SUPPLEMENT
The Stüssihofstatt is a monument that has been renovated with great respect for the existing substance. The tenant is aware of this and meets the object with care. Although technically state-of-the-art, certain functional details do not conform to current standards and harbor a potential source of danger. These circumstances are known to the renter. The owner, e-domizil and the foundation Ferien im Baudenkmal disclaim all liability.
