This is a great spot that isn't done justice by the description.
I booked for the last 4 nights of my trip. It is a bit out of the tourist area, but a bus does go by the road daily. It is not too far from Upala and the road is being improved.
I went to learn a bit about growing in CR. The owners, Ernesto and his wife Lesley were excellent and engaging hosts and I picked up some tips about farming in the area. There is a river through the property with a swimming spot and lots of plants, farm animals and wildlife (monkeys, sloth, birds) to see. The cabinas are nice with a big bathroom/shower. This would be a great place to bring young kids.
There are lots of dogs running around, all rescues, so if you pet them, they will adopt you. On my last two mornings, I found that two had slept outside my gate.
If you are a single traveler, or couple, I recommend you bring a bottle of wine or two and ask Ernesto to tell you about his Mayan ancestors:)
