Gorgeous private home
Beautiful home set in the hills with no visual neighbours. Everything you need for a relaxing stay. Big covered veranda, big rooms help make this a great family home. It has no A/C but it really wasn't needed due to its location and lots of surrounding trees. The hot water is on and off a bit but it was warm. The host is very responsive and helpful. I would definitely stay here again. Just loved it.

Expansive views, meh kitchen
We really enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and sitting on the porch. The house was clean, comfortable and very roomy. We only spoke to the host on the phone, but he was helpful and responsive to all our questions. Since this home is located in a remote area in the mountains, we planned to cook most of our meals there. The 3 skillets provided were not usable, so we had to buy a skillet for cooking. There was only one kitchen towel provided. There was a cupboard with spices which was nice. We made do with what was there, but felt the kitchen could have been better equipped.

The ride is for experienced driver the roads, twist& turns sudden and dark
I accomplished what I needed to accomplish. However, the space needs to be equipped with proper kitchen. Utensils and shopping should be done shut sufficiently before arrival negotiating the road during the night is difficult.

Beautiful, I wish we had stayed longer
For 3 days/2 nights we (being a 5-man bachelor party) stayed at this residence and had a great time. There was plenty of elbow room, the common area table was great for poker nights, and the porch was a welcome reprieve when wanting a hot minute away to relax w/ nature. The roads/approach was narrow and it took a pass or two to get our bearings, but once you notice the yellow/green gate posts at the top of the driveway... you can't miss them. Cafe Oro was great for coffee and breakfast, and dinner at Mi Pequeno San Juan was awesome as well as under budget. Don't forget sampling deliciously strange ice creams at Heladeria Lares, just bring cash and no cards are accepted. GO EAT AT EL CEPO Restaurante Mirador, you will not be disappointed in food or view. We also hit Camuy Rio Caverns, Arecibo Observatory, and Charco Azul from this home base. I give this place 5 stars because it was great, even when things went sideways. There was an issue with the water pump and we lost all water pressure, but the response and repair was immediate. The rain had the back yard swamped out, but the stone pavers and landscaping still provided the paths to get down to the forest edge. Even on the approach and having difficulty finding the house, Jorge was responsive and helped guide us. All in all, I wish we could've stayed longer and look forward to hopefully visiting again.

The house met all of our needs, it’s about 45 minutes to an hour everywhere but we’ll worth it. The owner was easy to get a hold of and was very receptive to all of our needs. Very relaxing.

Spectacular view. Not for the business person.
Coming from city living,, it was different. If ur scared of driving in the hillside, this is not for you. It is REALLY away from tourist areas. The house is close to the caves and rainforest so a lot of areas are preserved and still affected from the last hurricane. Overall, it was an amazing experience for my family and I. I can still smell the clean air. The only thing bad I had to say was the number of spiderwebs inside the property. The way the house was built, was to bring nature in the home. The pillows were outdated and covered in mold and mildew. There are some electronically updates needed but that is a major reason your on vacation. The house was clean. BUT we stayed the entire 5 days and it didn’t bother us after the first night. The owner was disposable for us and very pleasant. He answered every time we reached out.

Week 2 of 3 family bacation
This house is exactly as described. It was very comfortable for our group of 5. We were unable to take advantage of the close proximity of the river tours due to bad weather so we ended our week here 2 days early. It was an adventure everyday getting to and from this home to say the least. Unforgettable memories were made, friendly people and excellent communication with the owner. Thank you for making your home available.

Fantastic time!
We had a fabulous time at this home in Utuado! The house was spacious with plenty of room for the whole family. We particularly loved sitting on the veranda looking out over the gorgeous grounds. The property is expansive and was lots of fun exploring. The location of the home was perfect for fully immersing in the adventures of the mountains. Batey’s Ziplining company was fabulous! We had so much fun with the extended tour. The area is truly breathtaking! We also enjoyed the local bakery and other eateries within a few miles. Driving to the coast and even Old San Juan is doable from the house and was worth it. The drive to/from the house is an adventure in itself. We loved the views from the winding roads! We had an absolutely wonderful time! Highly recommend both the home and the area.

Served the purpose.
We were looking for a place to get away from the city and that’s exactly what we got! It accommodate the group of 6 ladies well, so the house and spaces served the purpose. It needs an update on much of the utilities, and maintenance of interior and surroundings because it is a nice place, but can be a much confortable experience if it was cleaner. Seems like the pictures were taken long before PR got hit by the huracanes. Overall the property was ok, but since we had a full agenda on activities we were able to enjoy our stay as much as we could.

Perfect for nature lovers! Book a Bateys tour!!
My husband and I had a wonderful time staying in Puerto Rico. We chose this house for the second part of our trip, for some different scenery and time away from the beach. The backyard is absolutely beautiful! Unfortunately because of all the rain we couldn’t enjoy it due to all the mud. The inside was kept very neat, however, it could benefit from a few upgrades. There was also some bugs that came to visit but given the location and beauty of the property this was to be expected. This didn’t bother us too much. We had everything we needed to cook meals on the stove top, however as mentioned in a previous comment a toaster oven could have come in handy since there is no oven. Normally we would have eaten out more but because of the heavy rain we had on a few occasions we chose to stay in. I would also suggest a few more activities, games etc. for the days when it is pouring. Perhaps even a few movies for the DVD player. We really enjoyed the drive to the property. We came from the South and have never been on such windy and narrow roads but some of the views were so beautiful we didn’t even realize. The drive was actually one of the highlights from our trip. Having a Jeep as a rental was quite the blessing and we would recommend opting for a larger vehicle to explore the island. On our last day we booked the Bateys cave exploration tour and wow!! What an experience. It was the most fun we have had! Definitely book a tour with them! Book two! We wish we did more than one. The tour guides were so fun and knowledgeable! We certainly saved the best for last!
