The only thing wrong with this hotel is the complete lack of a bar or restaurant area. Fortunately there are many options close by, but you really want the hotel bar.

The Sandman Suites has comfortable and affordable rooms in an excellent location, right in the heart of Davie Village. It’s very accessible by public transit (a fairly direct train-to-bus transfer from the airport) and located in a fun walkable neighborhood. The rooms have a small but very usable kitchen and a comfortable living room in addition to bathroom and bedroom. My bedroom was small but very comfortable. Each room has a balcony overlooking Vancouver with amazing views. I would definitely come back!

This building has undergone and is undergoing major renovations. Will be five stars once it’s done. We were not given a reason why but our room got upgraded for free on arrival to a room with a full suite. Location is great and good for getting around to a lot of Vancouver’s main attractions.

I requested the renovated suite. It was a good stay. However, we notified the front desk for a room clean at 11:30am on our second day and they forgot to inform housekeeping. So we got back to the room and the room was not cleaned. The front desk must have forgot.

Overall Happy but

I was originally placed on floor 15, the lights were broken, floor was dirty, furniture was stained, wood was chipped.. it looked horrible and smelt bad. Guest services moved me to another room on floor 15 but I said no, they complied and moved me to the 12th floor into a normal clean room. I’d say the staff was 10/10 on their response to this concern but I wasn’t too happy about being offered a room that was a 1/10 cleanliness.
