-- Bring water shoes for the Lava Rocks in/around the area
-- Went solo and had zero concern for safety everywhere I went.
--Rita/Sonny were extraordinary hosts. Sonny was most attentive and has a genuine kind soul. He was extremely diligent in responding to a question or request. Even laid out a coconut that had just fallen upon arrival and pointed out a lime tree for fresh limes adjacent to the cabin.
--The waves are so pleasant. I think most would want or book this place with the proximity to the ocean in mind but if it is something that bothers you the fans going drown the noise out.
-- Snorkeling is best at low tide and I would have to agree, it is like traversing through you're own large aquarium with several small and large pools in and around the lava rock. Fish, plants, and two eels were discovered!
-- You are just far enough removed but still close to areas of interest. I personally walked north and south several times down to the various playas, and they would only be a short drive otherwise.
-- 4x4 is not necessary but the final stretch of road (and others surrounding Playa Callejones) are not paved with various potholes. Go slow and navigate around and you'll be fine in a car. There is a 'main' paved road you can reach rather quickly.
-- Howler Monkeys were heard a handful of times!
-- The cabin has AC, all amenities, and would be perfect for a solo traveler or a couple that understands Pura Vida!!
Thank you!
