An impressive cultural heritage makes it one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, standing out in the province of Cádiz.
The town's core stands on a 200-meter-high hill on the banks of the Barbate River, 13 kilometres from the coast. It was declared a Historic-Artistic Site in 1976 and awarded the First National Prize for the Beautification of Villages in 1978. Vejer has been part of the Association "The Most Beautiful Villages of Spain" since 2014.

The apartment is in the centre of the old town part, near all essential services and facilities.
The apartment´s design respects the traditional style of the building. From its terrace, where one can enjoy a glass of wine in the evening, the nearby surroundings have a spectacular view.

With barely 13,000 inhabitants but centuries of Phoenician, Carthaginian, Roman, Muslim, Jewish, and Christian history behind it, the town alternates a chiaroscuro of white houses that illuminate it with other vestiges of the ancient wall and castle that overshadow it, achieving a perfect balance that enraptures the tourist who sees Vejer for the first time. Incredible.
The Moorish past of the town is something that jumps quickly to the eye when sightseeing in Vejer. Narrow streets overlap with the old fortress or gateways dating back to the tenth century. However, many of the most exciting places to see in Vejer de la Frontera (like most of the beautiful Nasrid courtyards) are nowadays part of private homes, although I will point out some that you can access with a bit of luck. Anyway, many wonders come our way, and they tell us the history of Vejer.
