Beautiful Gaffaro Apartment in Dorsoduro with Canal View

This charming second-floor apartment was completely restored and refurbished in 2004. Features Italian marble floors, hand-cut mosaic detail in the bathroom, Venetian chandeliers.

Master bedroom with full-size double bed, parquet flooring, fitted wardrobe, Venetian chandelier. Sofa bed in living room pulls out to double bed.
The kitchen is fully fitted and is divided from the living room by a worktop and breakfast bar. Living room has sofa and dining table for 6.
It has air conditioning, floor heating and internet wi-fi.

Our apartment is located in the university district and just two bridges from Campo Santa Margherita which is noted on Public Places ''60 of the Worlds Greatest Places'' list and it is the largest square in Venice and a popular hangout for Venetians young and not so young. It has a great choice of restaurants and cafes and a vegetable and fish market. You can sit in the sun and enjoy a coffee or a cocktail and watch the world go by.


The Gaffaro apartment (named after the bridge it overlooks) is conveniently located for your arrival and departure as it is a short walk from the train station and the bus station at Piazzale Roma. You can walk to Rialto in 15 minutes and get to St. Mark's square in 20 minutes by taking the vaporetto at San Toma'.

Cet appartement est très agréable à vivre , le matin vous profitez de l'éveil du quartier tout en prenant votre petit déjeuner . L'environnement est tranquille , plus dans le Venise authentique que touristique et facile d'accès pour visiter l'ensemble de cette magnifique cité . Nous avons eu un bon contact avec Sebastiano notre loueur , il nous a indiqué un petit resto à côté de l'appart ( la lanterna da gas ) ou nous avons dégusté de très bons plats dans une ambiance chaleureuse . Nous avons passé un excellent séjour et pourquoi pas à une autre fois !!!

Appartement très confortable, très propre, très clair, avec une superbe vue sur les canaux. Le quartier est très agréable, reposant. Il y a une des petits resto et bar à proximité très sympa Les distances de marche par rapport aux lieux touristiques sont raisonnables (15 minutes du Rialto et 30 pour saint Marco) et très agréables à faire en se perdant dans les ruelles... Le logement est à 3 minutes à pied de l’arrêt de bus pour l’aéroport. L’accueil de Sebastiano est très sympathique Séjour parfait! Nous recommandons vivement cet location d’appartement pour 4 personnes.

Excellent séjour
Situé à quelques mètres de la gare routière (vraiment pratique en arrivant de l'aéroport!) et pourtant au calme au bord d'un canal d'où le charme vénitien opère vite. L'appartement Gaffaro est parfait pour un séjour un peu en retrait des grandes foules, dans un quartier résidentiel et pourtant vivant. La circulation dans Venise est simple avec des arrêts de vaporetto à quelques minutes de marche. Sebastiano est bien organisé, disponible et nous a accueilli chaleureusement. L'aménagement est récent avec de nombreux équipements parfaitement conformes au descriptif. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour avec nos 2 (petits) enfants et y retournerions avec beaucoup de plaisir !

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine,début Juin, à Venise . Cet appartement est très bien équipé et confortable. La vue est très agréable et le quartier est tranquille, loin de l'agitation de la place St Marc qui n'est pourtant pas très loin,environ 30 minutes à pieds. L'appartement est aussi très bien situé par rapport à la gare routière et ferroviaire,environ 400 m. Nous n'avons qu'une envie,c'est d'y retourner. A bientôt Sebastiano, propriétaire très sympatique de surcroit.

Perfect location to view Italian life. From the ease of getting to the apartment from the train station or bus station, to just viewing everyday life on the sidewalks and canals. The view from the windows in the apartment is beautiful. The unit is stocked with a great amount of supplies to get your vacation started.We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Host Sebastiano was friendly, informative, and available. We loved that the property is a short walk to the bus depot yet far enough away to be out of sight. There is a view of two canals complete with occasional gondolas passing by. Super clean, and well appointed for two people. As stated in the ad, it is up two flights of stairs, but we are in our 70's and had no trouble. Close to several restaurants and a short walk to the Conad grocery. Overall it was a great place to serve as the base for our extended stay in Venice. Highly recommended.

Rooms with a View!
Our memories and photos of this beautiful apartment overlooking three bridges and gondola-strewn canals will have to last until we return to Venice. If it is still available, we would most certainly stay here again. After 6 nights, it felt like our home away from home and was equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Our host, Sebastiano, communicated clearly at all times, made check-in and check-out simple, was accessible throughout our stay and was a delight to meet in person. With the apartment situated on the second floor, we enjoyed having a view of the canals from above as well as the security of three well-locked doors between the entrance and ourselves. Well-located near enough to transportation hubs - Piazzale Roma, Ferrovia train station and several vaporetti/water taxi stops - to be convenient, but far enough away to provide a quiet haven from the tourist masses, the apartment was ideal for us. For our breakfast, we alternated between Sebastiano’s recommended neighborhood cafe, Al 133, and one of Venice’s best bakeries, Pasticceria Tonolo, both within an easy walk. We were spoiled by the many great options for take-away food, gelato, ciccheti, cocktails and dinner. Having stayed in many properties since VRBO first started, we give this one our highest recommendation!

An absolute gem of an experience!!
Our host was fantastic. He took the time to give us wonderful suggestions of places to eat, things to see, and vendors to use. He was incredibly responsive and friendly. Went above and beyond with customer service. The apartment is in a great area of town. Easily walkable to food and transportation! Lots of space for our family to have breakfast each morning. Kitchen had all the necessities we could need. Having laundry in the apartment was a nice touch. Wi-fi signal was strong. I was able to work and the kids were able to stream a movie at night. Highly suggest!!

Venice was our first stop for our 3 weeks in Italy. After our perfect stay in gaffaro apartment we can only hope the rest of our trip is as wonderful! Wonderful stay in Venice. The apartment provides everything we need with a beautiful canal view. Plenty eateries, restaurants and supermarkets nearby. Less than 5 min walk to bus station and 10 min walk to the train station, super convenient location. The host Sebastiano is very friendly and patient. He provides some great tips about how to get to get around Venice. Highly recommend!
