We did not complete our 5 night stay. After 3 nights we had enough of this place and switched hotels. The place looks like the pictures online were taken 20 years ago when it was just renovated. It’s is old and grimey looking. The walls in our room were dirty and scuffed and every light switch had not been cleaned and was covered in grime. There was hair all over our bathroom and toilet when we checked in and dirt and dust on the floor. Overall, I do not recommend this place.
Upon entering the Abazzia after a short walk (5 mins) from the train terminal we were greeted warmly by Matteo. He checked us in early, and explained everything clearly. He was a funny and charismatic host which is what you want in any hotel. The room was beautifully appointed In the old Venetian style, and was clean and comfortable. The hidden gem was the included breakfast which was incredible. Conveniently located and short walk to everything, this is a must add to your hotel list
Pictures are false, the room was filthy & run down with cracked walls, ripped stained curtains, outdated. Paid for a King bed & got a twin. Major bed bug infestation & room was very cold even with heat. I’m surprised this hotel is still running as it should be condemned. We also have numerous photos & videos to prove all that has been said in this post.
This place is like an ancient palace. Everything is so beautifully presented and staff are so beautiful and helpful. I loved my room sooooo much. Very spacious, comfortable, clean and very posh. Breakfast room is well decorated and I had my GF bread and sweets separately. The staff really looked after me. Highly recommend
Ok! This place is a hidden gem!!! And i do mean hidden it is down an alley that most people would avoid! But i say this to you my friend! GO DOWN THAT ALLEY!! The rewards are more well than you can imagine!
This hotel is an amazing kind and remakably cool place. It reminds me of a really upscale brothel in design. But the kindess of the staff is unparalleled. And the breakfast was amazing and the beds were awesome ... just sayin i liked this place
Great hotel just around the corner from the train station. It’s down a quiet alley with other hotels and a few restaurants. The inside was nicely decorated for the holidays and our room had fabric panels on the closet and by the bed which made the room seem very lux.
Location of the hotel was amazing. Didn’t need to walk far from the train station, therefore, didn’t need to lug suitcases far at all. Hotels in Venice aren’t updated, and this one falls into that as well, but you get the culture and authentic feel. Elevator was very helpful for the amount of luggage I had. Shower was interesting in my room, but manageable. Staff was friendly, not super helpful with help with bags, but still nice. Free breakfast was good!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Friendly staff, close to train station .... I had a very comfortable stay here.
Only stayed one night out of five we had booked. The first room we were given had bed bugs. We went to the staff and they never said they were sorry, really didn’t say anything. They moved us rooms, that room also had bed bugs. The next morning, we asked to leave and get a refund and they acted like we were crazy that they were in a second room. The front desk person kept saying “impossible, there’s no way” even though we had time stamped pictures and videos.
Other than the location to the train station/water bus, we did not have a good experience.
It qas our first time in Venice. The hotel is in a good locaiton near the teain station and public transport options. Its also easy to get anywhere by foot. The staff at the hotel were friendly and always happy to help. I would reocmmend this hotel if you are planning a trip to venice.
It was a last minute choice that turned out to be a wonderful decision. This is now our favorite hotel in Venice. The alley leading to it might seem sketchy at first but trust me, this hotel is worth it. Lovely HUGE lobby. Beautiful inner courtyard. A true hidden gem.
The location was great. It was a three minute walk from the train station. Every staff we encountered was wonderful and helpful. The breakfast was also included with our price. Shower was nice, and the water was hot the tea I like but of course you can adjust the temperature of the water. We stayed close to the train station so that we can depart early in the morning. Walk to San Marco square about 30 minutes and a lot of shops on the way. If you don’t want to walk there is the water taxi that is 9.50 Euros to go to San Marco Square.
