Horrible, dirty, stinky. The staff at the desk was terrible, didn't want to help and we're rude. My aunt's bed wasn't done when they gave us the room, she had to wait the lady from the desk to finish her orange first. And we never had the tv for may 90 year old disabled aunt, that goes to bed to rest at 6pm, after a tyring sightseeing day.

Clean and safe place to stay. It is near the city centre and all landmarks
The room we stayed in (401) was not in good shape. Stains on the carpet and curtains (blood, likely from people killing the many mosquitos that seemed to appear magically) as well as a cracked toilet seat did not give a good first impression. The bed really needs replacement as both sides of the bed had heavy slants and it was a challenge to not fall out of bed. Wallpaper was peeling and cracked walls also were not appealing. However, the sheets were clean and the bathroom was decent, as European hotels go. The location was excellent, but that is the only redeeming quality of this very dated hotel.
Close to St Marco Square. Convenient. Pretty nondescript accommodation with poorly ventilated en-suite facilities. Disappointing basic breakfast.

Hotel was right in the center of town with restaurants and bars all around. Very close from boat station and landmarks . Pretty clean. Breakfast is very good. However, there is line for check- in and it’s at the hotel in front of it. Plumbing in the bathroom is not the best. Bathroom window had a huge crack open and could not be closed. They just left it like that it appears.
Absolutely horrible hotel and the service is terrible, it is very old and dirty; it smells of humidity and mold. I advise not to consider it as a sales option anymore. I told them that I had planned to stay two nights and I couldn't stand it immediately, I left there the next day, a very, very bad experience.
The front desk goy at reception was rude. The room was dated and dirty. The thermostat didn't work so we were cold the whole time. We asked for extra blankets and received these scratchy, thin blankets -- the kind your grandma has. Plus, I'm pretty sure we have BED BUG bites. I only booked this place because it was the only thing left available at a reasonable price. I regret it entirely. I will say we were safe -- and there was hot water. But that's it.
The first problem was you had to check in at another hotel. The front desk at this hotel was abandoned. The second problem was I paid for a room with air conditioning only to be told it was turned off for the season even though the room was hot. The clerk actually laughed and said we would complain no matter what they did. I simply expect the air to work when I pay for a room that advertises air conditioning. The third problem was mold on the ceiling in the room. The only upside to this hotel was the bed was comfortable and the location was great.

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
Black mold in bathroom walls and cling edges. Quaint decor. Edges of carpet haven’t been vacuumed in awhile. Hard bed, thin bedding. Only two pillows. Very noisy on street below.

Nice kept older property...150 years?...small room but excellent location
Checkin and breakfast are at Hotel Padana, not at Diana. There are no staff permanently located in Diana. Room was very small and bathroom tiny . Decor was worn and in need of update. Towels and bed linen were spotlessly clean, unlike the room which hadn't seen a hoover in several weeks. Ignore any reviews showing canals or water views Diana is landlocked (see Google earth!). Very centrally located though and a 10 min walk to St. Mark Square water taxi. If you've not visited Venice before then you WILL need Google maps to get around - or get lost like we did at first

Better than expected
Despite some dodgy reviews we were pleasantly surprised by our stay here. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the mattress was new and the bathroom was clean with lots of hot water. The only thing to note is that reception is in the hotel opposite. This was not made clear for us. Breakfast is also in the hotel opposite which was basic not enough to keep us going.
