When I arrived at the hotel I noticed that the parking lot was almost completely empty. That made me immediately feel like this wasn’t a good place to stay. I went in to the lobby to check in and the desk clerk wanted me to pay for the night in advance, which was a little out of the ordinary and made me nervous of the kind of clientele the hotel catered to. I mentioned that I hadn’t even seen the room yet, but it didn’t matter, the desk clerk said it just made things easier in the morning. I tried to pay with my debit card but the machine wouldn’t accept my PIN number so I felt panicked and embarrassed and I was a long way from home and just wanted a place to rest. I tried over and over but it wouldn’t accept my payment. Finally I left and was able to book another room at another hotel through the website. When I recently checked my credit card statement, I saw that the hotel did charge me 136 dollars for the night that I didn’t even stay. I feel this is pretty low. I don’t travel to Wainwright often, but needless to say, I won’t ever be booking this hotel again. But hey, they got my money for the night so what do they care?
