The Term "Newly Remodeled" Should Have an Expiration Date
We stayed at this property for the first week of January 2025. We selected it because we have family who live on the island and the proximity was perfect. That, however, was the only think that was perfect about our stay. The condo has, indeed, been updated at some point in it's lifetime but in a very superficial and economical manner. The paint is showing LOTS of wear and the bedding and soft goods are tired. The crucial systems such as electrical and HVAC were so dated that calls to both electricians and furnace technicians were necessitated. A bathroom short was so bad that it exploded a hair dryer and the furnace was non functioning during record cold temperatures. It too had faulty wiring according to the tech. Most concerning, however, is the fact that the secondary bedroom is a complete firetrap. The original broken storm shutters are still on the outside meaning the only escape from this room is past the utility closet (furnace). The window itself is broken and can't be raised. If the room were merely claustrophobic and dismal, that would be one thing but since the electrical system and the furnace both had shorts and wiring issues during our stay, the room is a major safety hazard. I would never put children back there. If you are just one couple traveling, the master has a beautiful view. Besides that the kitchen is functional but also cheaply appointed. The whole unit needs a good scrubbing. Maybe the recent remodel of the Marriott will raise the bar
