Convenient and clean
Very comfortable 2 night stay at the Courtyard Vicksburg. Location is very close to the Military Park and convenient to downtown. Spacious room, clean bathroom, plenty of towels, good wifi. The only slight inconvenience was the lack of trashcan in the bathroom. The beds are comfortable with firm mattresses and soft pillows, my favorite combination and one of the reasons I prefer Marriott properties. Indoor pool and whirlpool are nice and comfortable, the little outdoors seating area with a firepit is cozy. The little breakfast area is convenient for a quick bite in the morning. All in all this worked out very well for us and can recommend to anyone visiting the area.

The check in was mundane. They said nothing except “swipe your card” Not explaining they charge 150 if you use your debit card. I paid with Expedia, i thought maybe they needed the same card as i paid with. Had i have known i would have used my credit card, they gave me a room that wasnt clean yet. So they changed my room and charged yet another 150 to my debit card. While i know likely it will fall off, i know a lot of people cant afford for those funds to be just held like that. Good customer service would have said why she needed a card even though i had already paid. The rooms were just “ok”. The pool was like a tub so small indoors. Its Vicksburg i get it. But its also a Marriott, i expected better.

This really was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. My granddaughter tried to get in the tub and it was so slippery that when she went down, she couldn’t get back up. I had to lay a towel inside the tub for her to get on in order to stand up. The tv had no noise. The phone to the front desk didn’t work so when we went down to tell them they said they would put in a service order. The outlets on the desk didn’t work. The ladies were very sweet but no help at all. We tried to talk to the manager and they weren’t there and at first couldn’t find contact information to give us. It really wasn’t a good experience. The one good thing was that the beds were comfortable.
