We enjoyed this hotel. Good location, but lots of homeless people in the area. Felt unsafe and was worried about vehicle parking. Great staff and rooms were nice, but could use some general maintenance on basic stuff like toilets and doors.

The only distraction from staying at Sandman Victoria was the plethora of homeless/random people on drugs outside of the property. Totally nothing the hotel can do about that. But was certainly noticeable as a visitor to the city.

Initially we checked in around 2 pm for two rooms which were prebooked. Was told rooms were not ready which was okay. Did checkin with credit cards etc. Returned at 630pm. Only one room ready. Took an additional 20 or more minutes before second room was ready. Totally not acceptable.

Room clean but smelt a little muggy. Need to have windows that open to air room out. Fan in washroom needs cleaning or replacement. Staff were friendly.
