I know why Rick Steves recommends
Tina was very friendly and provided information on places to go. The room was clean and quiet and very close to the metro, shopping and Cafe Ritter and had a private bath. She was available when ever we needed something and for a very reasonable price did our laundry. Highly recommend.

Was a very good place. Would book again. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location. The only nitpick was that during our stay the bathroom ventilation system was not working.

Pay attention to check in details - it is a short period between noon and 2 pm. My check in, however, was wonderful. Not only did she accommodate a late check in, she assisted me in finding the parking ramp as Vienna streets are very complicated.

We arrived at K&T only to find that Expedia hadn't confirmed our booking. Tina arrived immediately to take control of the situation. What a wonderful person she is. She was able to provide a room for our first night and sent us out to explore. In the meantime, she contacted Expedia and secured another room for our second night. The next morning, she walked us to the new hotel and got us settled. She goes above and beyond to accommodate her visitors, even when they aren't expected. She also told us what to see and instructed us on getting our transportation to the airport on our final day. I would highly recommend K&T primarily because of the personal service and care. Besides that, the room was clean and very quiet and close to the Metro stop.

Great location for this place, with a subway stop literally around the corner and across the street. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and spoke great English. The room was clean, comfortable, and large. I would stay here again.

Classy Vienna - Lovely Room!
The rooms are on the ground floor of a lovely and grand old house. The staircase is amazing! We were greeted by a very friendly lady who not only showed us our room and gave us a map but she also talked us through the area. The location is close to all the sights and there are plenty of cheaper-style restaurants and bars in walking distance. The room itself was large, light and modern. The bed and mattress very comfortable, the shower new and clean and everything was working flawlessly. No hesitation of recommending to anyone! Vienna itself was wonderful. Stylish and classy. Plenty of Art Museums and Exhibitions for cold weekends. We loved it. Only downside: In Vienna smoking indoors is still allowed. Bars, Restaurants, Cafe-Houses.... we came back with all our clothes smelling of smoke. The rooms are NON-SMOKING though which was good.

Accommodating in every way!
When I booked this, I asked for a quiet room and we got one! Tina checked us in then took the time to showed us where to go, what to do, how to get around and advice for buying multi-day tram tickets. Our room was large, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The boardinghouse is located just around the corner from the tram and bus line, near grocery stores, shops and is about a 20 minute walk to the museums.

absolutely marvelous
it was really comfortable. Amazing location, friendly and helpful staff, the rooms are spacious and super clean. it's right at the center so everything is at a walking distance. We got help everytime when we encountered a problem, like we wanted to go to Prague for a couple of days and were worried about carrying the heavy suitcase with us so they offered us to keep the suitcase with them till the time we return from Prague. This will be the place we stay from now on when we are in Vienna.

Great guest house in good location
K&T is a very comfortable guesthouse in a lively neighbourhood of Vienna within walking distance (or 2/3 metro stops) to the museums quarter and city centre. The room was spacious and well equipped and we appreciated the kettle for hot drinks. There's plenty of nearby cafes for breakfast and meals.

Charming family-run little hotel!
We had a very pleasant stay at the K&T Boarding House in Vienna. The family-run hotel is ideally located and very affordable. Our room had a double bed, a comfortable sofa bed, a small table with coffee/tea, and a full bathroom. Tina welcomed us on arrival and took the time to give us advices and traveling tips for our stay in Vienna. She highlighted places, buses and trams on the maps and told us everything we needed to know about sightseeing, food and public transit. Thank you :) I highly recommend this place.

Great room, conveniently located.
Easy check-in. Maria was very helpful and had a very friendly disposition. We were able to get some wash done at a very reasonable price and all we had to do was leave the clothes at the front desk. The boardinghouse is right at a subway stop so it is easy to get everywhere. Plenty of places to eat and a grocery store close by too. I would stay there again.

Convenient location. Great little hotel!
Don't let the unfortunate name "boardinghouse" scare you away. This is an excellent hotel to stay at while in Wien and we would not hesitate to stay here again. Rooms are updated and clean, the beds comfortable, WIFI was fast and the hotel itself is ideally located. It's literally around the corner from the nearest UBahn stop (U3). Major tourist attractions and the Westbahnhof are only a couple of stops away in either direction. It's just a small hotel in a residential building (5 rooms) so you are treated more like family than in a chain hotel. It doesn't have breakfast available but that is nearby at reasonable prices. Tina, the owner, even offered suggestions for our sightseeing itinerary and was very personable and helpful. This little jewel of a hotel is a great resource while in Vienna!

Warm welcome from Katerina, a very pleasant & gentle spoken lady. She took time to go through with us the recommended venues in Vienna. Lodging is clean, neat & all is well. Spacious, Great Location and affordable
These three qualities are usually mutually exclusive for accommodations in Europe, especially in large cities such as Vienna. This is a treasure. If you are looking for these qualities for a stay in Vienna, then look no further. This is a bed and breakfast style hotel (although it does not offer breakfast). It is in a heritage type of building and the room is so spacious that one can lay out all the luggage and still have room to wiggle around. The hotel is about 2-3 minutes walk from a subway line which can get you to almost any part of Vienna, and its only 3 stops from the old city centre (Stephansplatz Cathedral). Next to the hotel is also a pedestrian shopping street which also leads into the old city centre. So, if you prefer to walk to the city centre, this route is also a nice walking route. The hotel is situated in a side street and therefore is very quite. This is a bed & breakfast style hotel and therefore do not expect hotel style amenities/services. However, when you consider the price and location and the room size, you have a real winner here. Warning, if you have a lot of luggage, then you need to consider that you need to haul your luggage up a few flights of stair as there is not elevator.

Lovely room, great staff and convenient location
Very helpful staff, big comfortable room, convenient location and great value for money. We were greeted by a friendly and helpful manager who gave us a comprehensive guide to not only the places of interest, but also the best ways of getting around, interesting restaurants which made our stay in Vienna all the better. The boarding house is very conveniently located to public transport (bus and rail), a major pedestrian mall with shopping and restaurants and within easy walking distance of the ring road and restaurant district. Our room was spacious and clean and is certainly value for money.
