The hotel was very good but reception has charged me twice for the booking. I have tried emailing and calling with limited response. I can't see why in this day & age a hotel system wouldn't acknowledged when payments to the account are made

They say never judge a book by its cover and this hotel is exactly that. The exterior of the Crowne Plaza was dull, dirty, and the logo was all faded. But as I stepped inside, the hotel was beautiful and impressive. The hotel was modern and very elegant. The two-story grand foyer with winding stairs was a nice touch in design. My room offered modern luxury in a semi-open floor plan. Sleek design with sliding glass door between the sleeping area and bathroom. Large soaking two-person tub and plenty of warm (even hot water). The one slight negative is that the tub never filled up to the halfway point. The hotel staff was warm and friendly. If you're looking for a comfortable place to stay in Vientiane, the Crowne Plaza is a great option.

Enjoyable stay
Stayed for 2 nights at the Crowne Plaza Vientiane in late March. First off - fantastic service from the staff be they front desk, in the restaurants or drivers. Room was very comfortable - simple in its design but had everything you could need. Great gym and pool area too. I had a problem with the aircon on the first night however after raising it with the front desk staff, they quickly arranged its repair and then left a lovely platter of cakes that evening. My only area for improvement for this hotel is in the variety of cuisine at the restaurants. Limited choice and on the one evening I dined there, was only one option open. Thankfully Vientiane has a range of good options so maybe that is why the hotel does not offer more. Would definitely return.
