standard for the area
i had no issues here, it was all typical. great options over the road for dining at night in the dry season. the breakfast is standard fare but quite well done. the pool water is a nice temperature. i used the poolside restaurant for one lunch and it was very good.
The location is very good except that this is not a good place for business traveler . The room has a very weak WIFI and upon my complaint to the reception, they told me this is the best we have. What is reply?
This was a disgusting dirty hotel
The room was very dusty and dirty
No coffee in the room
Stained old sheets and towels
Old fuzzy reception tv
Supposed to be non smoking but ash trays in hallways full and never cleaned
Halls had big stains on the rugs
The noise at night was very loud ..with music late into the night
The breakfast was by far the worse we have had and felt it un safe to eat
Guests smoking at breakfast
We did not stay the three nights we booked
The staff unfriendly and useless
If they had a health department it should be shut down
No way a three star
Well service was very poor, 11:35 pm I spill water on bed by mistake, I call front desk for bed sheet the answer was don't have key for laundry room or storage, I sleep on floor no carpet , just imagine, I don't recommend to no one to stay at vansana riverside in Vientiane, LAO, also door man always looking for tip, huh, I don't mind to tip but first provide services, not good experience at all, Tahir

Great Location & Pool, Average service & Breakfast
Fantastic location and a great room. Very expensive though so expected a bit better service. Two guys on reception actually said "no" when we asked for bottles of water. We had to explain we would pay for them and that we were very thirsty. Breakfast was very average. We chose this hotel for its location and swimming pool and these were both great.
This was a nice hotel in many respects,it was not furnished to Western
standards,no drawer space, only a lot of shelf space. Food at the comped
breakfast nothing to get excited over.service was lousy to say the least.food allowed to grow cold, never replenished in a timely manner.
The restaurant on the first floor was much better, and food was good.
The lighting in the room was not as good as I prefer, again not to Western exspectiations.
I may well stay here again, for the location on the river, and accept the dislikes.Staff also speaks limited English.
This hotel is very well located, close to many restaurants and facing the "promenade"à long the river. It's a little noisy in the evenings cause of the numerous food stands along the promenade and the music playing. For those who are sensitive to noises for sleeping, better bring good earplugs.
But we could watch the marvellous sunsets from our balcony.
Counter staff not interested best suited to work in a morgue where nothing is happening.
Room had a good view overlooking Mekong River is the best thing I can say about it. Shower was dirty and the water would not drain away from the shower floor when finished as floor sloped away from drain hole, air conditioner was noisy and rattling all nite making it hard to sleep. Towels felt like sandpaper, Television reception was terrible on the old television set in the room. No coffee in room only a bag of tea leaf.
Breakfast was cold and if you do not get there early there is no bacon as the tour groups which use this hotel come thru like s flock of seagulls, that leaves fried egg in the bay Marie some fried rice, chicken sausage, pressed ham (if you are lucky) and some spaghetti. Hardy a good meal as it is all cold.
Plenty of better hotels for the price in Vientiane to stay. Would I stay there again? only when they pull it down and rebuild it and place a manager with some hotel experience in charge.

Internet is not important
In the first 5 min of my stay I asked for some help with the Internet. When the technician arrived he was not able to connect either. I tried to get a refund and find another hotel. I was reminded that I had prepaid by the hotel management and that they refused to give me any money back. I called Expedia three different times and they were no help either. Just a lot of hold time.
