The best staff!
The lobby was nice the the staff were very helpful. Many of the staff spoke English and they helped us a lot. Unfortunately the hotel is very old and in need of updating. The price was O.K. considering the time of year (News Years), but it's so old and kind of depressing in the room. The location was good. The breakfast was fine. The staff was outstanding.

Overall good. Great looking lobby but terribly outdated rooms with damaged warped wooden flooring that makes it difficult to open the door. The workers are helpful. Breakfast could be better.

The sound proofing in the rooms is very poor. You can hear people walking on the hallway. Music from the main floor “events” was playing until 4 am.

Old, not well kept, phone in the room was not working, no A/C, staff pretty average, large property and not kept well. Parking facilities -10 breakfast ok. Need to invest a lot of money in order to convert it in a really nice property. 2 stars

Historic Hotel Near the Heart of Vina Del Mar
If you're looking for a modern hotel with lots of amenities, this is not the place for you. On the other hand, if you want a clean hotel with a European feel and cool historic vibe close to the heart of Vina, this would be a good choice.

The location of this hotel could not be better.
It used to be a stately and prominent hotel, it still is for some folks. the staff was very helpful. But the rooms need updating . Also the heating system is in urgent need to be replaced. Security was great, security staff was always visible.

Nightmarish!
Where to start. Lobby is renovated so it makes you thinks it’s a classic pretty hotel. Once upstairs EVERYTHING is awful. I booked a “superior room” that was supposed to have a king bed. Room had 4 beds scattered around, 2 of them put together to make a king bed. Bed quality was awful, I could feel the springs, blankets are probably from the 50s, so is the rest of the furniture. “Minibar” was broken so warm water and drinks only. I had the bottled water, it was never replaced, yes, they charge you for it. Bathroom was disgusting. Hairs all over, old and moldy faucets, windows, and bathtub. Room floor hasn’t seen a broom or mop in decades. Everything is dirty and very very old, furniture, walls, closet. No climate control (No A/C). It looks like a place you would find in rural-middle-of-nowhere paying 20 dollars. Problem here is they charge 140 USD and up. It is a rip off . STAY AWAY! Look at my pictures if you are hesitant.

Stay away from O'Higgins Hotel
Our experience was one , that we rather forget. The room assigned to us was right above a Party Room holding a Prom for Elementary kids. The Celebration was scheduled to last until 3 A.M. full blast. Around 1:30 we couldn't take it anymore and asked the front desk to transfer us which Rafael gratefully agreed. The rooms were far from what anyone expects from a 3 Star Hotel, no Air Conditioning in rooms or hall ways, smelling closets, stained towels, noisy beds and dark hallways. O'Higgins Hotel is in a dying need of a total renovation to a beautiful building and honor the name it bears.

Big hotel which is loosing it’s gloss. Rooms very dated. In need of TLC. OK breakfast. Poor pool area. We have stayed in much better on a wonderful trip to Chile.

Return to the Era of Old World Graciousness
Love it! Old world charm with enormous hallways and salons on each floor. Fantastic bathrooms, including the lobby. Pool area really nice but could use some TLC. Great employees, the BEST service from all.

Lovely hotel, great central location, charming staff. It was a great stay. Nice food and a good classic feel. The room and overall ambience of the hotel was lovely and the location of the hotel was close to the central square and bus routes so it was easy to get around and explore the lovely old streets and shops of Vina del Mar. Additionally it was within a very comfortable and pleasant walking distance of the coast.

Lovely old hotel
I love this hotel - it reminds you of a past time when hotels were not all the same. It is a little rough around the edges, but always an experience. The breakfast is good.

Very concenieny
Everything good except very bad wifi. The front desk made poor excuses for it. Said to re boot phone etc. the corridors and lobby's were littered with tired athletes trying to find better reception to talk to their all important friends and family. Not acceptable in this modern era where instantaneous contact is expected

Not the best
Staff was great. The hotel is just old, noisy (under construction and paper thin walls), and lacking amenities. I was there on business and wifi basically didn't work in the room or the designated 3rd floor wifi zone. Location was great- right on plaza close to shopping, beach, casino.

The WIFI connection in the room was not stable. The beds were rollers beds on a wood floor and slid all over the place when you were on them. The bathroom was small and outdated. I would not choose to stay at this hotel again.
