We did not leave food out and were extremely clean and ants were everywhere in the bathroom on the night stand all over the walls. We told the desk attendant on day 4 out of 7 and nothing was done. The Kitchen area had so many I spent one of the nights cleaning the counter non stop then went and bought ant killer. The sheets also will not stay on the mattresses. And the construction work starting every morning at 7:30 am on the adjacent rooms was so pleasant also.

The location is fantastic and we were treated to a ocean view which was stunning. On the downside the facility is very dated and desperately needs a makeover. However, the price and value of the property is right in line and we would go back.

Schooners is an older hotel that has been cared for properly. In fact, on the floor that I was staying, room 425 was undergoing renovations for the 2025 season. The rooms are vintage with comfortable beds. All have balconies, with pretty good in room coffee. Bring your fishing equipment, for Schooners is the last hotel on the strip where fishing on the inlet and the beach is absolutely free.

The Schooner Inn is like our home away from home, at Virginia Beach. My wife and I have stayed at the Schooner Inn more times than we remember, since 2008. It's one of the few places that we know of with a "no pet" policy, and a heated (albeit outdoor) pool. We love sitting on the balconies or in the dining areas, and people, dog, and boat watching. The surfers and dolphins seem to congregate at this (the southern) end of Virginia Beach. We hope to spend many more nights at the Schooner Inn!

Amazing views, especially at Sunrise and Sunset. Very Clean and staff is very friendly and accommodating. Our room was a comfortable size with two queen beds and a small kitchenette and eating area. We had Ocean views with a large balcony. Laundry facilities and vending machines are on site. Location is great being on the private end. Best of all you can walk right out on the Beautiful VB Boardwalk from the Hotel parking lot where you have access to great restaurants that have the ocean views as well. There are many shops and entertainment that are just across the street and within walking distance from the boardwalk. They had a Halloween parade All ag and Cultures, the Costumes were Amazing. They also had a couple of marathons one with a polar plunge. The beach and the whole area is clean safe and very well Maintained by the City on a daily basis. Great to see all the cyclist and joggers and people strolling children and pets and people fishing, boating, surfing and para sailing which adds to the relaxed atmosphere. A plus is they were already decorating for Christmas and have some cool lighted displays.I Highly recommend Schooner Inn we have stayed there numerous times and have always had no complaints. We look forward to our next Vacation stay with them. Be sure to check out their Amazing Aquarium and sign up for a fishing or Dolphin boat tour. 😁

Whirlpool & Ocean View is a must!!!
If you chose to stay at this hotel getting a room facing the ocean is an absolute must! Our first night we stayed in a room facing the pool. The room wasn't up to my standards of cleanliness. The second day we switched to a room with an ocean view and whirlpool. Game changer! I wish I would have changed rooms to begin with. The room was 100% better in every single way! The front desk supervisor who helped us, Robert, went above and beyond to help us and he was amazing! Awesome customer service. The Schooner Inn is lucky to have him!

The Schooner Inn has never disappointed me. I've stayed there multiple times through the years as I make regular trips to VA Beach to visit family. I've stayed at other hotels, but Schooner is the best value. All the rooms have balconies and floor to ceiling windows facing the ocean, which to me, is the best feature of the rooms! There are a few hotels which are more modern and luxurious, but Schooner delivers the best value as its accommodations are very nice and the staff is great! I had one slight issue with the curtain, as it was difficult to maneuver, but a staff member came in a very short time and demonstrated how to finesse it.
