Simultaneously a military fortress in the 13th century, a noble residence in the 18th century, and a hunting lodge in the 19th century, the Château de Bouillancourt takes you on a journey through time where the past, present, and future converge and intertwine. It is a journey through time as well as through the many spaces of the place.
We invite you to experience a new form of heritage site occupation in the 21st century.
Sometimes a château-hotel, sometimes a château-museum, we believe a third way is possible: the château-experience, a resource center for the region and its inhabitants where you too will find your place and role.
We speak of memorable moments, of a journey through time, but what will this actually mean?
It simply means an invitation to take possession of a château with a captivating contemporary history: infused with signs of the past, like the staircase retaining its hunting trophies or the Louis XV style salon… our proposal is to let you experience for a few days the château’s new functions alongside your own stay: a permaculture garden, farm buildings hosting a participatory grocery store, artist residencies occupying the Fruitier, and more.
As the first rays of the sun bounce off the large 19th-century terrace, the rooms, dining room, and kitchen are heated by a wood stove. Those who are very sensitive to cold, beware! For others, this wood stove will make your evenings delightful.
Whether with friends or family, your unique presence in this heritage hub is a form of financial support for the restoration of this historic site. The funds raised through accommodation help continue the château's renovation and develop the associative ecosystem of this third place.
Welcome to Bouillancourt, a place of possibilities and heritage innovation.
