Island Time at Vivonne Bay - short walk to beach

Island Time is a lovely air-conditioned self-catering holiday house located at beautiful Vivonne Bay on the south coast of Kangaroo Island, two hundred metres from one of Australia's most stunning beaches. The decor is modern with a bright and airy ambience. There are two bedrooms at opposite ends of the house, each featuring new queen beds.

The fully equipped kitchen includes an island bench, a new Westinghouse stove with ceramic cooktop and an espresso machine with ground coffee supplied. Also new Scanpan cookware & cutlery and a rice cooker.

The laundry is equipped with a new LG front-loading washing machine, laundry tub, ironing board and clothes airer. A clothesline is located at the rear of the house.

Free WiFi is included, taking advantage of broadband Internet available in Vivonne Bay. Foxtel satellite TV is provided along with a widescreen TV, Blu-ray player and a Bluetooth stereo system that provides smartphone connectivity for playing your favourite music. Plus a selection of DVD movies and music CDs.

Our bedrooms are suitable for one or two couples or a family. An infant cot can be set up on request in advance of arrival and use of a trundle bed can be arranged.

The house is comfortable year-round with reverse cycle air-conditioning to the open-plan living area together with a pedestal fan. Dual control electric blankets are fitted to the beds for cosy winter nights along with MiniJumbuk wool quilts. Extra pillows and blankets are available.

The spacious outside deck overlooks a tranquil wooded valley and catches the morning sun. There is a 3-burner gas BBQ on the deck along with a new table setting and LED lighting. A great spot for morning coffee, BBQ breakfasts and alfresco dinners. A fish-cleaning sink is attached to the end of the deck.

Wildlife abounds with Tammar wallabies being frequent visitors below the deck along with brushtail possums and occasional koalas. Numerous bird species flit about in the bush surrounds including honeyeaters and superb fairywrens. Bold little striated pardalotes are prevalent in Spring & Summer and occupy nests above the deck. We have also installed a birdbath in the rear garden which is popular with honeyeaters and wrens.

Island Time is ideally located between Kangaroo Island's major attractions, with Raptor Domain and Seal Bay lying to the east, and Kelly Hill Caves, Admiral's Arch, Remarkable Rocks and Flinders Chase National Park to the west. KI Wildlife Park, Stokes Bay and Hidden Beach lie to the north.

Local activities include swimming, surfing, kayaking, fishing from the beach and jetty, sand-boarding, quad-bike riding and walks along the pristine beach to the Harriet and Eleanor Rivers.

Local facilities include the Vivonne Bay General Store, jetty & boat ramp. Mobile phone coverage is provided by Optus and Telstra, noting the Telstra signal is weak in Vivonne Bay.

Island Time is an easy ~70 minutes drive from the ferry terminal at Penneshaw and 40 minutes from Kingscote Airport.

We welcome you to Island Time which we have been operating as a holiday house since 2014. It is a real home-away-from-home.

Good location for Flinders Chase National Park
We had a very comfortable stay at island Time. The house is well set up, clean and very quiet. Caught salmon ( delicious ) at the local beach and looked for fossils in the rocks. Good location for arriving at Remarkable rocks early to catch the best light. Very happy with our stay here.

Fantastic location Many tourist attractions close to where the house is The house is great But The house would present a lot better with some maintenance The big outdoor deck area needs restoring A new hand basin and taps in the bathroom are well overdue… The Property Manager, Ian was absolutely fantastic Ian was very responsive to messages, and very helpful and attentive, in a great way.

Absolutely superb! Property is immaculate, comfy beds, lots of wildlife around the deck, particularly in the evening. Fabulous position as very peaceful so all you can hear are the birds & the surf (beach easy walking distance from house). Hosts email all relevant information and are accessible if necessary. We have travelled a lot around KI and this property is simply marvellous! Thanks

Thank you for allowing us to stay at your property, it provided an ideal base to explore the surrounds of that part of the island. The visits from several furry friends were a real high light (wallabies, koalas, Lola the dog). If I was to provide any constructive feedback, we weren't provided with any towels for our daughter (3rd guest) and a hand towel would have been great. Overall though, was a fantastic stay.

Island Time
It is an attractive and very comfortable small property. Ideally situated for exploring the natural part of the island. Flowers were magnificent, as the island recovers from the bushfires. Penneshaw IGA a 'go to' for provisioning before heading to Vivonne Bay.

Great stay
It was a great stay at Island Time, we only saw and got to feed a Wallaby and it's joey once in the front yard, but there was evidence they were there near the balcony throughout our stay as they ate the fruit we left each day (that or the possum). It was a great location walking distance to the beach and central to everything we did while in KI. Would stay there again and was the perfect size for a small young family (x2 adults x1 4yo). Had everything we needed for cooking at the house too.

The gale force wind roared in from the Roaring 40's but we were safe and secure in our accomodation. this may be a regular occurrence as exterior paint seemed to have been blasted of the building and needed to be replaced, Internally excellent in every way.

Perfect spot for a winter break
This property is ideal for independent travellers who want a relaxing base to explore from. It was the perfect spot to stay and had all the facilities we required for self-catering. Our hosts were extremely helpful and welcoming, providing a great deal of useful information about Kangaroo Island and checking that we had everything we needed. We were also introduced to the local wildlife which was a lovely additional touch! Thank you!
