Good quality hotel in pleasant Wakefield area.

Check-in was very good - professional, friendly and helpful team member. Excellent location alongside a lovely park and easy access to Wakefield City. Found the room of good size and clean - but quite noisy on the evening of arrival - from the corridor and neighbouring rooms - lasted approx. 20 mins, then OK. Just 1 Bath Towel and 1 Hand Towel provided for 2 people - not particularly an issue, but not ideal.

Great family stay

Comfortable, clean family room with space for all of us. Friendly staff and a breakfast with plenty of options for Coeliacs. Lovely and quiet as the hotel rooms are in a different building to the pub/restaurant.

Superior room was awful!

Paid extra for a superior room and highly disappointed. Room was adjacent to hotel entrance and stairs, the security door was very noisy with it being slammed open and shut constantly. The noise from the stairs and room above also very annoying. Asked to downgrade to a quieter room but the new receptionist was unable to help. I repeated my complaint in the morning and was told someone would contact me, but never did. I stayed the week before (in a near identical room at lesser cost) and had no such issues. In fact it was quite pleasant do decided to stay again. Will be returning to the area each week for over a year but wont stay here again due to the "Superior" room issues, over charging and non response from staff! Well done Green King!

We had a wonderful stay at Holmfield. The location is great, the pub is fabulous and the room was very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay! We plan to come back again when in the West Yorkshire area.

Great meal, accommodation a little basic

The good: staff are nice and are helpful and I think the place is well run. Glad to find a glass each and charging points for phones in the room. There is a reasonable size TV. The room is a little larger than a budget hotel room and the bed is very wide. There is a bath. There is free wi-fi for which you have to give your details to the supplier and answer a survey question. The less good: There are three flights of steps to get down from the car park to the entrance. As in some budget chains now no loo brush, which is not nice. Milk comes in small tubes that you have to use several of and which splash everywhere on opening. Hair and body wash supplied boasts eco friendliness but does not lather and is no good to me as shampoo. I found the Holmfield Arms as accommodation to be overall like a budget hotel but costs slightly more. It's a good place to eat and drink, providing relaxed casual dining with a menu of various burgers, roast dinners, pies, and much more. I enjoyed my ultra burger. I might not go for accommodation here again.
