I made a suite reservation for myself and two other travelers via Expedia and paid suite pricing of over 220 pounds. Upon arrival, I checked in, went to the room and found it was obviously not a suite. I called the front desk and asked if this was a suite and was informed the room was a double. After explaining I paid for and booked a suite I was told they didn’t have any suites available. The agent had no intention of helping me, even after I said we’d have to put one of us on the floor as the bed was very small. I had to ask for a rollaway bed which was provided but let me tell you, my dog sleeps on better. The room was hot, stunk of stale air, had one towel, and the toilet wouldn’t flush. Next day, I asked Expedia to refund me the rate of the suite. I was willing to pay for the double. The hotel said the booking was for a double but as seen by my charge and receipt I paid for a suite. This hotel is a thief and would not refund any of my charge. I am going to contest this charge with my bank and I recommend to anyone traveling through the UK from overseas to avoid this mess of a place they call a hotel.

The common areas were not very tidy, especially in the staircase corridors (there was a crisp bag and some threads on the floor). The room was very warm and the a/c wasn't working (faulted). Opening the windows didn't create much airflow but certainty increased the noise level as the room backed on a road. There is a lovely view of discarded furniture, pallets and cut down trees....

Quite possibly the worst nights sleep I have had in the past 20 years. The room (219) had windows backing on to a bank of AC compressors, which were on and off all night. The room was boiling and had been fitted with an AC unit. The AC unit rattled all the time it was on so I had to turn off. The torn quilt was the heaviest I have ever had in a hotel and it was 22 degrees. Don’t mention the shower - see photo.

Had a little bit of a rough first night due to the vents outside our room. Victoria moved us and was a really great help she went above and beyond to fix it and make our stay enjoyable, great member of staff. Food was lovely, staff were really nice, really would recommend people to stay.

Not great, charging too much for what you get.
Took 45 minutes to book in. Found items from previous occupant in the room. Hotel generally needs decoration etc, bit shabby when you consider the price. Restaurant very expensive for standard food. Overall disappointed. The duty manager did his best to make up for our initial poor experience, but the stay was ruined by it. On the positive for us, the hotel is very dog friendly. The room was quiet. TV and air con excellent.

Staff was overwhelmed with too many guest and events. Need better training to manage customers. Nothing special about the rooms, they are relatively clean but service does not clean properly. Beds looked wrinkled after service.
