All good apart from 2 issues 1 lift was broken so had to walk 2 floors up no help with bags and 2nd found pool area and changing rooms floor areas not cleaned as with steam room door not good didn’t feel right just need s a good clean not Mold y otherwise ok

Welcome at reception was great, went through everything. She didn’t mention breakfast which we had booked but we didn’t notice at the time but the next morning we realised why, because we weren’t down as having booked it, I don’t know if this was a hotel or hotels.com error. Lift was out of order so glad we only had to carry our cases up one flight of stairs. Room was okay but had double or king size sheets and duvets on the single beds and the beds looked lumpy, a duvet under the sheets for comfort hadn’t been put on flat so once we remade the beds they were fine but correct size duvets would have been better. The handle in the bath was loose so not safe to grab to get in and out. We ate in the lounge bar and the pizza had a nice flavour but was quite tough to cut through, the beef ragu parpadelle was a very small watery portion with hardly any beef (about 6 small pieces) for nearly £20, still being hungry after paying that much is ridiculous, it also had mushrooms and carrots that weren’t mentioned in the menu description.

From the price and exterior, I expected better service from staff. Also the lift was out of order with no sign as to when it would be fixed. The whole place, including rooms, was roasting hot which did not make for a good night of sleep. Very handy for the M6 and useful having a pool there for children although their access times are limited.

I like this hotel & stayed before. It's not cheat, at >£150 per night on a room only basis but the beds are very comfy & the food is good. However, this time, my room was above the bin area & I was woken up in the early hours of the morning (3 or 4am?) by the noise & flashing lights of the collection waggon (even with the curtains closed). I did complain to reception and they just repeated 'sorry'. For >£150 per night for a bed, I'd have expected more than 'sorry'.

Hotel looked lovely on arrival. Reception staff member was welcoming and helpful. We had chosen a superior family room, which had a double bed, a single bed, and a sofa. The room was more than spacious enough for myself, my daughter and grandson, plus 2 small dogs. Unfortunately, the standard of cleaning in general in the room was only just passable. There was a layer of dust on top of the tv, and the glass table was smeared and marked. The mattress of the single bed was noticeably bigger than the divan base. Whilst this didn’t affect the comfort of the mattress itself, the front of the divan base was very obviously completely filthy. The entire length of the base was visible as there was nothing covering it (like a valance). As we were told at check-in that we had the only room of its type, we had to make the best of it for our one night stay. The state of the bed base was so obvious that it could not have gone unseen by staff. This failure to deal with a very obvious issue meant that we were doubtful about the standard of cleaning in general. Service at the bar was good the first time, but our later request for ice seemed to be a problem. Thankfully another staff member intervened and a glass of ice for our room suddenly became available after all. When we checked out in the morning, we advised reception of our issues with the cleanliness of our room. We received an apology and told that our comments would be passed on. All in all, a disappointing experience.
