The plus is that it is walking distance from Target. Not too far from downtown. The accommodations need some work. There were roaches in the hallway. My room had no toilet paper. The shower was dirty, had no shower head and the drain was clogged (i was standing in water). The bed sheets had stains.

The hotel is definitely a converted motel in a "just starting to be gentrified" area of DC (not far from Gallaudet University), but the renovations were good. The rooms were nicely painted, the beds are good if firm, and the bathrooms were clean. The barn door for the bathroom could be better - I don't think it stayed closed, which is fine for a solo traveler but more difficult for groups. The placement of the dresser next to the desk meant some drawers couldn't open all the way. That said, if you're on your own and need budget lodging (and aren't mad about taking public transit or bikeshare to chic areas of Washington), this is a pretty good option.
