I love the hotel but the first time we stayed there was the room was fabulous. This time that we became it was just like a regular hotel. There was nothing special about it. I don’t know whether because I chose the street view, but I think that the room stayed in was the George Washington, which I loved, but the biggest thing about the hotel is that it did not have the restaurant we were looking forward to ordering room service instead we had to go to Pages try to find some food to be delivered which cost us more and then he ended up having to go outside and walk off about three or four just to get us something to eat and that’s not what we were looking forward to so overall the hotel was nice. I like the happy hour from 2 to 5 although I did not indulge my husband had a glass of wine, but , not having a restaurant that can order a real service was the biggie for me. Thank you.

This place is tired
The hotel is in need of a refresh. All of the FF&E is worn and looks pretty dirty. Worse still, there is no food outlet on premises; you can't get a meal on-site. Breakfast was coffee & muffins, and that's it.

The location of the hotel was perfect . We were a 5 minute walk from Union Station . The hotel itself is nice. . The lobby has been decorated for the holiday . The rooms are spacious and the beds are made each day . Each room has a robe, umbrella, and a yoga mat. The front desk staff was not kind or helpful except for one helpful man who seemed to be the manager of the housekeeping staff . The front desk was unfriendly. No one even bothered to tell us which floor our room was on, how to connect to the Wi-Fi , where the gym is located or even that they offer a meager continental breakfast . I thought I’d paid for breakfast only to find out the restaurant is closed for renovation until January . They ran out of half and half this morning. Given the amount of money we pay, that should not have happened .They didn’t even tell us that there are complimentary items in each closet . We thought someone left their umbrella. Nice hotel bad customer service

The hotel is located in a very convenient location with public transportation right near by. It's walkable to the Capitol and the National Mall. The staff was friendly and helpful. In the room there were a couple of minor things that showed a lack of maintenance - the towel hook was loose in the bathroom, the sign in the shower that showed how to use it was wrong/out-dated, and the closet door had to be kept closed with an external hook. Other than that it was fine. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. There was a Nespresso coffee machine in the room which was good, especially because they ran out of coffee in the lobby.

The stay was great. Parking was across the street, but there was a nice area to stop in front of the hotel and unload. The onsite restaurant was closed for dinner time, but the breakfast and lunch we had there was amazing.

Fantastic staff, very welcoming and accommodating. I can’t praise the staff enough. From the front desk to personnel in the lobby, everyone seemed so proud in their work and made me feel so welcomed. The hospitality staff did a great job with the room as well. The facilities are top rate, the room was comfortable, clean, and well appointed. The location is perfect for walking to sites, and access to the Metro. The stay exceeded my expectations. It was a joy to come back “home” at the end of a long day. I always prefer boutique hotels to the big chains and the personal touches and little extras, like the complimentary wine in the lobby in the early evening was unexpected but really nice. Great location, amenities, staff, lobby, room. I would absolutely stay at the Kimpton George again. And again.

Great location. Nice hotel overall. Parking was tough because our truck was too big to fit in the garage or the valet. The toilet in our room had issues the first two days we were there, but they eventually got it fixed. would stay there again though if we have a smaller car.
