Rustic romantic log cabin near crater of diamonds

Come take a step back in time and relax in our 186 year old log cabin. It is an authentic historic structure with added modern conveniences. Whether it's a quiet evening on the porch, a dip in the pool at night under the stars, or coffee with the animals, you are sure to enjoy your stay at our farm as you experience life in a cabin as it might have been in the early 1800's. Our historic cabin can sleep 2 comfortably. There is a queen size bed (remember folks, those big beds didn't exist back then), but ours is comfortable! The sleeping arrangement is one bed in the main area of the cabin. The cabin features a full kitchen and quaint bathroom with a modern shower and a period pedestal sink. As a guest at our farm, feel free to roam around. The entire farm is yours. You may enjoy the pool between 10 AM - 10 PM, mingle with the animals or relax on the porch of your cabin. I am on the property pretty much all the time. Depending on the preference of our guests, I have spent the whole experience by the pool with some and have not seen others. A heavy continental breakfast (Farm fresh egg and cheese strata, a homemade pastry, farm fresh yogurt, and orange juice) is served either in your cabin, or at poolside (weather permitting) for $12 per guest. We love your fur babies, and they are more than welcome at Coulter Farmstead. We charge an additional fee of $25 per pet per night.
Coulter Farmstead is a luxurious, rustic, and historic farmstead located in Washington, Arkansas that features four log cabins dating to the 1840's and a unique barn loft over an actual working barn that have been painstakingly renovated, as well as an 1860's antebellum Greek Revival home situated on 11 acres with an 1880's historic mercantile. Coulter Farmstead is located on the edge of Washington State Park "Old Washington" located just a few miles from Hope and Texarkana. Our property is authentic and will make you feel as though you have stepped back in time, but with all the modern conveniences and amenities. Come relax in one of the cabins or barn loft, experience unique shopping in the historic mercantile, or have the perfect intimate wedding anywhere outside on this beautiful property. Whichever you decide, our farmstead is the picture of rustic beauty. It is our hope that you and your guests will feel comfortable and right at home whatever the occasion, as you make memories to cherish for a lifetime. At Coulter Farmstead, drink in the simple, peaceful pleasures of farm life with just the sounds of nature as your backdrop. Experience a gentler way of life in a place where we describe porch sitting, book reading and coffee drinking as an activity. A farm fresh, heavy continental breakfast with a scrumptious cheese strata souffle' with fresh eggs from the family chickens, farm fresh homemade yogurt, a pastry and seasonal juice is available to guests in their cabins.

Justice and Katie were great hosts. The cabin was so cozy and comfortable. The breakfast was awesome! We enjoyed swimming in the pool, looking at the stars late at night and seeing all the farm animals. We plan to visit again .

Rynders Cabin
The Rynders Cabin, at Coulter Farmstead, was a very unique experience!! I would describe Rynders Cabin as "romantic, quiet, peaceful, and relaxing". It is a place to go if one is looking to de-stress. If I was a writer, this would be the place I would definitely want to go to write. The fireplace in the cabin was a definite plus; although, you can only burn fire logs (not firewood), and you need to leave the cabin clean to a certain degree according to renter's policy. I spent most of my time in awe of the construction of this very old cabin built in the mid-1800’s in historic Washington, Arkansas, State Park. There is no hustle and bustle within the park. The population here, at the time, was only 180. It is definitely worth Googling the historic buildings, which are many, in this small area. The must see, within the park, is the 180-year-old magnolia tree. My main purpose, for this trip, was to go to the Crater of Diamonds State Park which is only 40 minutes away. The drive is beautiful!

A slice of Heaven!
If rustic beauty, farm animals, peace & serenity are what you need this is the PLACE! We loved everything from the moment we drove up, Katie greeted us, directed where to go & where things were located. The cabin was perfect, a mix of the old with new modern amenities…like air conditioning 😊 Breakfast was amazingly delicious, fresh and hot and delivered to our cabin at our preferred time. We were able to freely enjoy the animals on the farm & give them treats. The pool was very nice and we enjoyed a great convo with Katie. We plan on going back in November because our two nights were not enough time to fully enjoy this little slice of heaven!

Awesome Vacation Rental
We are frequent VRBO travelers and would have to say Coulter Farmstead ranks in the top tier of every category you would rate a vacation rental. The place was cozy and the owners were nice and very welcoming. The place was stocked with everything we needed for our stay. You are close enough to a city but far enough out to feel like you’re away from everything. Communication with the staff was the best I have had at any vacation rental. The breakfast they offer was worth the money. This place receives the highest recommendation from our family.

For us, 2 seniors, the lack of stair railing and comfortable place to put your feet up after 9 hours of driving was an issue. Not a HUGE issue becausewe wereonly thereone night, but would have made us more comfortable. Absolutely great breakfast! Sweet host.

Peaceful, romantic getaway
This was our first trip together as a new couple. The cabin was cozy and decorated vintage but with modern conveniences. We enjoyed the visits from the farm animals right on our front porch! MiMi the cat, baby goats, the new puppy and chickens. We also explored the woods and river next to the property. Justice and Katie were very friendly and did I great job making us feel welcome. We will definitely be back and can’t wait to see all the improvements/additions you make! The Coulter Farmstead is about half an hour to the Crater of Diamonds and other attractions if you decide to venture aware from the farm.

Quiet Retreat after Christmas holidays.
My husband and I were looking for a quiet few days to catch up on rest without distractions. The cozy cottage nestled under bare trees was perfect. We walked through the town of Washington, Hope and Murfreesboro. The residents of these areas are some of the most polite people I have ever met.

Beautiful place ,awesome breakfast! Plus tons of American history !
We loved staying at Coulter Farmstead, we will be going back! Justice was the best host ! When you stay here add the breakfast. Katie ,breakfast was awesome! Loved the animals as this is a working farm. The historic town of Washington is within walking distance , pretty much every building is a museum . Jim Bowie’s knife was made in this town! So put on your walking shoes ( or drive) buy your tickets and soak in history. Just know everything in town is closed on Mondays . Be sure to see the giant magnolia tree . We wished we had more time to spend here , we will be back! Thanks!

An absolute dream
Staying at Coulter Farmstead was an absolute dream. We checked in and grabbed a few frozen casseroles at the mercantile to heat up in our adorable cabin. We then walked around the farm to meet the various farm animals and took a swim in the pool. The bed was very comfortable and the farm fresh breakfast was divine. All the staff were super friendly and attentive. Thank you for an all around amazing experience!
