Cozy Vacation Cottage on the Lake with Hot Tub!

Relax and enjoy our completely updated home on crystal clear Viola Lake. Your family will enjoy our spacious, yet cozy cottage with gorgeous lake views and an expansive lakeside porch with gas grill, outdoor sofa, and fire pit. In the summer, enjoy swimming and fishing off the dock in the sandy bottomed lake, rent a boat or enjoy the included paddle boat or kayak. In the winter, use the snowmobile trails nearby, take a moonlit snowshoe hike across the lake, or go ice fishing with your buddies! *Please note - our home is located at the top of an incline down to the lake. While this creates incredible views from the home, it does take some work to climb up the stairs on the way up. Please refer to pictures to make sure this home will work for you.

We enjoyed the home which was very clean and comfortable. We moved lamps around for more light but let the host know that some lamps weren’t functioning and she plans to correct this. The lake was fantastic, but the steps were no joke, the description was accurate and visitors should make sure they can do them before booking. Thanks for sharing your home.

This property is beautiful with lots of tree coverage for privacy. It is on a busy road but the lake and all areas one would spend time are on the lake side. If going down to the doc, i suggest bring what you'll want in one trip. (Cooler with beverages/snacks) as the stairs up are rather steep. The lovely clear lake is great for swimming and worth the stairs. (If physically able) Any and all cooking items are available. The home is clean, with beautiful views. The lower level allows for your group to spread out, if you wish. There is a large bedroom suite on that level. We would definitely visit again!!

Getting to wake up and have coffee out on the patio or in the beautiful nook off of the living room/dining room was a great way to start the day. The property itself was well kept and was presented as described. The lake was crystal clear and the dock was beautiful.

Very nice stay!

My wife and I recently enjoyed a four night stay at this property. It was very clean and well appointed. The entire house is well stocked and the kitchen provides everything you need. The walk down the stairs is a bit long, but worth it. I caught several fish right off the dock. We enjoyed watching a young Bald Eagle hanging out on his chosen branch not far from the window of the house. The hot tub provides for a nice place to relax and enjoy the scenery! The owners were very communicative. We would recommend this property!

Cabin was very clean, had a great view of the lake and trees. It’s very close to a busy road but you don’t really see it once you are inside. The cabin was nicely updated and very well appointed. Stairs to the lake are long but not really overly steep.

Anniversary Getaway

We wanted a long weekend away in a quiet, peaceful location (it also happened to be the start of fall color change which was stunning in the area). This fit the bill well. The property is delightful, well equipped with whatever was needed for cooking, and has beautiful views of the lake. You can wake up and drink your coffee in the cottage, on the porch, or take the stairs down and enjoy the view lakeside. We enjoyed a quick swim in the cool lake followed by a warm up in the hot tub. The property description is very accurate describing the journey down to and back up from the lake. It is a little workout if you take it quickly or have any kind of mobility issues. It is worth the effort though. We loved the local coffee shops in the area and didn't have enough days to see all of them. There are also plenty of wonderful restaurants in the area to explore. We loved our stay!

Glorious relaxation

We really enjoyed the the house and amenities - especially the hot tub and back deck. The stairs down to the dock are a little tricky to maneuver...in the dark, when we first arrived! But the view is wonderful and I needed the exercise on the stairs.the kitchen had everything we needed and more. I didn't initially realize the house was an a moderately travelled state road, though I should have from the location. However it wasn't disruptive at all because all the good stuff is facing towards the lake! This was one of most relaxing and enjoyable vacations. And thank you Margi, for sharing your home with us and being very responsive on any questions. And I apologize that we broke a glass and didn't get everything down to the laundry. Unfortunately we got word of a family emergency the night before we were leaving, so we left extra early and my mind was elsewhere. Thank you again for making our beautiful stay in the Northwoods so very comfy and enjoyable!

The cabin was adorable and we were pleasantly surprised with the modern appliances and luxurious furnishings and layout of the home. Loved that the lake was not too large and busy to get around on the paddle boat. Great location & close enough to town for quick supply outings. Would definitely stay again!

Beautiful Weekend Away

The home is beautiful. We loved the master bedroom and bathroom. The outdoor hot tub was a great way to start and end the day. The view was gorgeous. The lake is quiet and peaceful. We caught some nice fish. The paddle boat and kayak were great to float around on. The boat launch was close by and so is a grocery store and a sports shop. The kids loved the foozeball table. Even the bed was super comfortable. All the things you need are there… towels and soap and dishes, etc. The only drawback to the house is all the stairs from the house to the lake. But if you’re strategic and in good health, it’s not a problem. :). We can’t wait to come back.

What a lovely home with an amazing view! It is in a perfect location for quick trips to town, though we rarely left because everything we needed was at hand. Our only wish was that we could have stayed longer. We intend to return sometime soon.

Exactly what we needed

This place was exactly what we needed. The cabin itself was very comfortable, great location, clean, and well maintained. We are a family of 6 and the space was perfect for us. The lake is gorgeous and great swimming right off the dock (water is pretty clear, not very weedy and no lily pads). Our 4 kids loved jumping off the floating dock. My favorite room overlooked the lake and had a huge window and 2 comfortable recliners- this is where I drank my coffee in the morning. Everything was as described in the listing, we are planning a return visit next summer. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great place on a gorgeous lake.
