We really liked the front desk woman she was wonderful ,however they had run out of milk and were going to get us some but none arrived ,to be fair we were only there for one night so not a big deal .
The property is in dire need of some ongoing maintenance ,ie walls where fixtures have been moved have holes in , carpet and mats ragged in places ,entry doors and windows to rooms have not been cleaned since goodness’s knows when .
Manager was helpful when we needed to check in late. Exact instructions were provided and we had no issues finding the room. Wifi was non

Great location, easy to get to.
Arrived late, was told to find key in our unlocked room. This worked well.
Could be a super motel if managment tidy up little things like removing carpet stains, cleaned up walls and paint falling off the bathroom ceiling.
Other than this place was really clean.
I made my booking through Wotif and I was phond by the motel and told there was no accommodation available and Wotif should not of taken the booking. Four days ago I contacted Wotif to return the money they charged me - to date and after two emails Wotif has not responded. I have issues with both the accommodation provider and Wotif

The rooms were ok we were only there to sleep one night some paint peeling off bathroom ceiling had to step up high into a bath for a shower which was difficult and was frightened I would slip in the bath so wish we had a walk in shower reception lady was lovely and friendly
This is the second review I have made on Aotea Lodge. We were very disappointed with the standard of cleanliness and the lack of basic maintenance we noted in unit 304. I was unable to bring the deficits to the attention of management until the day we left (we had a two night stay). Management were very apologetic about the state of the room and offered us a partial refund which we accepted. Management assured us that they would attend to the problems.

Bathroom sink was very discoloured and shower floor did not drain because of uneven floor
The location was awesome the facility was dated. There was no toilet paper, bath chipped with hair in it and a white tail spider on the wall.bedcovers were sheets with no valance, a chair was dirty and the room smelled on arrival. We were happy to pay the rate but the facility was crapp. The restaurant was closed, however the pool we could use considering the cleanliness of the room we did not use it.
Would not recommend at all.
It was sooo clean comfortable beds good heating and great for large groups. Privacy and lots of parking.

Naomi - at reception is great, very welcoming and helpful. Units are a bit tired, though I understand new owners may be doing some upgrading. Fine for the purpose of my stay - I had no vehicle and I could walk to supermarket or catch bus to larger shopping centre.
No towels etc in bathroom. Extra stuff left in there that shouldn't be there. Two small dead maggots on the bathroom floor when we arrived. Told that they had just done a spring clean. We stayed 2 days days. They cleaned unit after one day. Maggots still there when we left. Killed 3 spiders in the unit of the first day.
No bread and butter plates in the cupboard. One coffee cup cracked and leaked coffee. Went to office to get another one which was also dirty.
Iron had wires showing through the cord.
Place was old and dated
The covered walkway to the laundry area was great when we had persistently wet day. The staggered height of each section of units provided an element of privacy even though there were many units in the complex. The proximity to Aotea Lagoon was perfect for the playground and walks with our granddaughter.

Good location for visiting Porirua/North Wellington - handy to the motorway but removed from the noise and busyness of State Highway 1. Room very clean & comfortable but a bit tired. Restaurant appeared to be closed and area around the pool a bit unloved...didn't feel like this area was used very often.
Comfortable beds, good parking, helpful staff. Hot water.

I wouldn't return. I travel a lot for work and I thought this was overpriced. The room smelt terrible, so musty. Unfortunately a smelly room gives the impression of being dirty. I don't think it was dirty but the smell was very offputting. I would have paid $90 to stay here, not the $165 I was charged.
The property, especially the bathroom, was very run down & on terrible condition. Given i paid $165 a night for 2 people i expected immaculate, or close to it. On the upside the bedroom area was in better condition & beds were comfortable but the bathroom was a serious let down.
