It was easy to park.
First room I was in was very run down and dingy (sticky stains on carpet and sticky something on table, a few pills on the floor in the bathroom, hair in sink, mold on ac window unit, hole in bathroom door, pieces of door frame splitting away, and a very strong odor of smoke that persisted after attempt to air the room out with all windows and doors open (I was told all rooms are non smoking but people either side of this room were there long term and smoked. Also, no Wi-Fi (an issue for a meeting I had that evening). Told it was “down because of weather” (no rain, storms, wind that day so maybe another day?) and could not be fixed until the owner arranged that (who was unavailable)
The young lady at the desk (Juliana) was sympathetic but shared there was nothing she could do. I asked if I could speak to manager, told not available, could not be reached.
I called Expedia to let them know the state of the motel room and that I felt it was not “as advertised” (certainly not the photo and a motel that is “basic” is fine by me but not dirty and smelly!).
A gentleman from Expedia spoke with the front desk lady and THEN I was offered another room. It was damp, smelled of mold (there was a humidifier that didn’t do much) but at least cleaner. Unfortunately was below someone who chose to watch very loud TV programs until after 2:53 am (the last time I looked at my watch before giving up on sleep)…no answer at the door to request turning volume down
