Great canoe-accessible cabin in the woods
Like the description says, there’s parking off a dirt road then about a 10 minute canoe ride to the property. My kids enjoyed the canoeing, it was an adventure when getting back at night but for us it was a lot of fun. The cabin is beautiful and offers a lot of amenities but it’s solar powered and fresh drinking water comes from bottles. There’s a sink for washing hands and dishes but it’s non-potable water. If you have camped and are used to canoeing and dealing with water at camp, it’s very accommodating and a great time. Not recommended for those looking for fully modern cabins with AC and anything car accessible. Pat and Bethany are great hosts and we always, are nearby and reachable, and we always had everything we needed. Had a great week!

Tranquil Wilderness Cabin
My daughter and enjoyed a peaceful week long stay on this great property. The short trips in the homemade wooden canoe were fun and the property was close to a lot of other great locations. I am planning on bringing the whole family next year.

Beautiful property, excellent family vacation.
This was exactly what my family and I were looking for property is set on the river with boat access only. Just a short boat ride from the secure parking area and you feel as though you are the only ones around. But don't worry about being any secluded if that's not your thing down it's just a short drive and has much to do. The house itself is beautiful. No shortage on beds or space. And if you forgot anything chances are they had it. The the fishing was a blast,

Relaxing stay at a quiet, pretty spot
My husband and I totally relaxed during our stay at Pat and Bethany’s cabin. We loved using the canoe daily and saw fish, eagles, osprey, blue heron and more! It felt good to get a break from TV, cable and internet (though access is available on your cell phone). The cabin is well maintained and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Pat and Bethany were very helpful and available to bring our belongings to and from the cabin. The cabin is located a 5 minute canoe trip from the dock, but also only 10 minutes from Gardiner with it’s pretty waterfront, shops and grocery store. Relaxing on the dock in the afternoon with a book was fantastic. It was a much appreciated rejuvenating stay. The bottle of wine to welcome us was also appreciated!

Memorable Maine Stay
Pat & Bethany have a wonderful Maine camp. We enjoyed the rustic setting and appreciated how welcoming & helpful the hosts were. Be aware there is an approximately 8 minute canoe trip to the camp from your car. We enjoyed the peaceful time on the creek, it added to a memorable trip! Great place!

Stunning and private accommodations with caring and responsive host
If you are looking for a private, beautifully maintained and cared-for cabin with incredible kind and accommodating hosts, then look no further. Even with a toddler we were able to manage the short canoe ride from the cottage to our car without problem. The views are beautiful and the atmosphere serene. The mattresses and beds were all incredibly comfortable, and sheets provided were extremely nice as if new. Pat and Bethany were incredible hosts who accommodated all of our needs, responded promptly if we had questions, and offered us customized recommendations for things to do in the area. We not only would come back again, but hope that next time they will join us for a bbq and family time by the fire pit. They really thought of everything from bug spray to paper plates to shampoo if you forgot your own. You can tell this is a cabin used lovingly by their family, and we were so fortunate that they shared it with us!

Amazing place
This property is well maintained, clean, cozy and it's very clear that Pat and Bethany have put a lot of heart into making it what it is. We stayed 5 days/4nights and we found that the cabin had everything we needed. The kitchen had all the supplies to cook/eat. They also had the cooking utensils for the grill. The bathroom is pretty small but had everything we needed. We went with our 4 year-old and she also loved it there. For her entertainment, we rented a couple of redbox movies from nearby Gardiner and brought a few toys from home (there are board games and movies in the cabin but nothing really for younger kids). Although this property is located right next to the highway, we felt like we were deep in nature. While canoeing in the area we saw some deer, an owl, eagles, and beavers. We had a great time swimming right in front of the property (although as Pat indicated, it's pretty muddy). Although ticks were an annoyance, I would say this has been one of our best stays (we love the outdoors)! We had a nice balance of relaxing/hanging out at the property and visiting towns/doing tourism. I would definitely recommend this stay.

Great getaway!
Pat and Bethany couldn’t have been better hosts, and their cabin is a perfect place to relax! The cabin is very clean and well stocked. We loved the adventure of getting there by boat and the cabin is very private. We caught largemouth bass, saw eagles, and a great horned owl. The wildlife is awesome, get out on the water and enjoy!

Woodsy getaway
As the largest group that's every stayed in the cabin I'm afraid the owners got more than they bargained for!!! Our large group of 7 fit cozily into the cabin though, and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Quiet, relaxing and off the beaten path gave us just the chance we needed to enjoy some low key family time but it was close enough to towns to make groceries and sightseeing convenient and easy as well. Pat and Bethany went way out of their way to welcome our group(twice) to get everyone over to the cabin..... Almost like staying with family!! Hoping they'll let us come back next year😁

Wonderful Place to Stay!
My boyfriend and I stayed at this cabin and enjoyed every second of it. The owners were incredibly helpful and helped us get our things to and from the cabin. It is very clean and has everything you need to cook meals there. The canoe ride between the parking spot and the cabin itself was actually very easy. It felt very homey and we wish we would have booked it for at least one more night! I highly recommend this place!

Decompress and recharge
Great property and a great location. Could not have asked for a more relaxing place to unwind and enjoy some down time. Pat was an exceptional host. Answered all my questions and concerns. Gave me the grand tour then waved goodbye and wished my a happy vacation. That's exactly what I had. The cabin is very clean and inviting. Everything you need is there. And the fishing was awesome. Was catching large mouth bass right off the dock! Would definitely recommend the experiance. I will be returning.

Quiet & peaceful. Great family time!
Our family of 4 booked the cabin so we could visit relatives in a nearby town. We have two teenage boys and they loved the "rustic" cabin and the adventure of canoeing down the river to get to our car and back. Pat was a wonderful host and we had a great time. It was just what we needed to escape our busy lives for a few days and relax. We'll be back!

Wonderful owners, Beautiful cabin, Great Fishing
My wife, daughter and I just finished staying at this cabin for 4 days in the end of July. The cabin and property were extremely clean and well taken care of. It is a very relaxing place and we enjoyed our time here. I am an avid fisherman and was thrilled by the great fishing nearby. The Cabin is situated along the Cobbosseeconte stream which is a great bass fishery. I spent most of my time fishing in the town of Gardiner where the Cobbosseecontee meets the Kennebec river because I was told that there were Stiped Bass in the area. I fished a total of around 7 hours spread over 3 days and I caught: Striped Bass, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Crappie, White Perch, Yellow Perch, Bluegill, Pumpkinseeds, and an eel. The diversity of the fishery was really unique and exciting. The cabin's owners were extremely friendly, helped us transport our stuff with their motor boat, and responded quickly to any questions or needs we had. The town of Gardiner was nice and liked exploring the restaurants and downtown area. The reason I rated it 4 stars is because there were two things that we wished we could change. The biggest issue for us was that the cabin has non-potable running water. The owners provided tons of free clean drinking water which was wonderful but anything that came out of a pipe was from the river. We love to tent-camp, hike, and just be outside so getting dirty doesn't bother us but for the nightly rate, I wanted to feel clean when I got out of the shower. We used the jugs of water that the owners supplied to brush our teeth, wash our hands, and rinse our dishes. You could also hear the highway a little bit sometimes but that didn't really bother us. All in all it was a nice place to stay for several days before we headed to Cape Cod to go camping.

Just amazing!
Everything was clean and nice and exactly as described. The area was absolutely beautiful and the stream great for swimming and fishing. Though it was pretty muddy at the bottom the water was incredibly clear without a big current. Everything in the house worked great and the only thing remotely bad about this place is that you can hear the highway which is also a good thing because you are so close to it. The owner and all the neighbors we met were so nice and it was great how remote it felt when it isn't far away from anything. The short canoe ride put us in the perfect mindset for relaxing and it was nice that so much was provided to us like firewood, games, and towels as well as a few toiletries in case you forgot and ideas of things to do. We loved it so much we started planning coming back on our second day! Well worth our 18 hour drive!

Refreshing, relaxing and adventurous
My sister, myself and our kids (3 teenage girls, ages 14 and 15) stayed at the cabin for 5 days and 4 nights. We are more city than country and we found the entire experience refreshing and adventurous. The canoe ride is very reasonable even for less experienced folks. The cabin is comfortable and is roomier then one would imagine due to good use of space. It is very clean and well maintained. There is a little cabin that is attached to the main one, and very comfortable and private. The owners are very nice and hospitable. There is no internet/WiFi, but you can bring movies to watch or use the movies available at the cabin, and re-discover family time. The girls actually had to interact with each other without electronics and ended up having a blast. They realized that there is more to life than WiFi!! You can easily reach travel destinations, local farm markets are no more than 10 minutes away. Warm blankets are enough for the night time during the summer, since the evenings were cool. We opened the windows before bed time and the cool breeze made the inside temperature perfect for sleeping.

Outstanding balance between remote/off the grid and close to amenities and a variety of activities
Great setting! This is the second time we have stayed at this cabin. Easy to access by water. Less than 5 minutes by canoe and about 30 minutes from Freeport. Having the dock light up at night by solar motion sensors is a big plus when you get back to the cabin in the evening. Many deer, ducks and loons along the waterway and around the cabin. Cabin is well maintained, clean, with plenty of room and ambience. The cabin inside makes you feel you have gone back in time but with some modern amenities. Open concept cabin which is great for family fun. Kitchen has a sink, stove and refrigerator with plenty of counter space. Bath room is inside, small but efficient. Dinning room and living room have great views. There are plenty of beds and the connecting bedroom is perfect if you want to sleep in in the morning. No cable tv, which I like, but there is great cell phone reception. If you like the feel of wilderness but want to be close to amenities and activities this is the place for you.

Private and relaxing!
This is our second time staying here! The camp is super easy to get to and only a few minutes off the highway but the quick canoe ride in from the parking spot and giant forest to explore give you a feeling of privacy and relaxation that is hard find. The camp has been extremely clean and comfortable with plenty of beds and seating for our group. When we stayed there during the summer we found the fishing great, but the swimming wasn't ideal. This time during our visit we did some hiking through the woods. There are great paths along the river and around the big property. This is a great camp if your a nature lover, it gives you the feeling seclusion without the huge drive!
