Lovely hotel for our overnight stay, staff very friendly.
Restaurant was very good for our evening meal with a comprehensive menu.
Only slight downside was they were doing some groundwork at the rear and side of the property so it was a little noisy early in the morning.
Lovely seaside location with great views towards Aran. Our room was large with a great big comfortable bed and a fab bathroom with a jacuzzi bath and rainfall shower over it. The bar and restaurant are also lovely with good selection of food for dinner and breakfast, both of which we enjoyed..
My room was meant to be a deluxe room with side sea view. Ripped and stained curtains do not say deluxe. View of the workmen doing the building works and woken by them at 7am is not deluxe. A shocking breakfast with such a poor selection is also not deluxe. I complained when I checked out, male manager approached me without introducing himself as the hotel manager, I had to ask Sorry who are you for him to then introduce himself. I showed him the curtains and discussed my complaint and that it was not worth what I had paid. I mentioned a local competitor who has bought a hotel close by and that their all over standards were so much better. He replied that he had been there recently and service was awful. Again not a professional reply. He apologised profusely and agreed with my complaints. I again reiterated the cost of the room, his way of compensating is giving me his email and to email him when I’m next in the area. In hindsight I should have pushed further for some kind of refund. I drove past last week and the ongoing works at the hotel certainly don’t make me want to rush back, they make the hotel look rundown. Shame, previous stay was great but I will continue on the road next time to its competitor up the road.
This is a modern well maintained hotel.
Ultra pet friendly!!
Right on the beach
Good quality bar food, great breakfast
Great staff.
It is also right on the road so do book a beach facing room - we did not and the room was OK, but we yearned to open our window - and it was not to be as this is a busy road.
A five day stay to watch The Open Golf championship at Troon. The hotel was not able to provide TV coverage of the golf which was unfortunate ans most residents were there for the golf. The hotel took advantage of the golf to charge a premium for standard rooms. It may be better value to travel in from further afield during the championships.

Great hotel. Everything seemed to be just right. Service was there when you needed it and not there when you didn’t.
Minor issue with vegan ingredient availability but nothing else wrong.
There was a main road right outside our window and there is a constant roar of traffic. We did not get much sleep. The only thing to spoil a lovely little break
Great place.
Friendly staff, with special mention to reception who had to deal with an inconsiderate guest.
Food was great too.
Loved the decor of the whole hotel. Well done to all
We stayed here before and had a fantastic experience. Sadly, rather disappointing this time.
We booked a delux room which on entering had opaque film covering the lower half of the windows which instanty made me suspicious. It was an attempt to block views of the bins, road and the caravan park next door. Our room was at the side of the hotel.
We expected a partial sea view, but not the rest.
With the hotel being so quiet we would have expected a better room positioning.
We were shocked to find that simeone had clearly used our loo. There was urine & loo roll in it!
The bar, restaurant area was very cold with only embers glowing in the log burner. Another client was sitting with his puffa jacket on.
We asked if they could stoke the fire, however we were told it hadn't been on for 2 days and there was no kindling! It had been on. They then turned up the heating.
The open kitchen in the bar area was noisy. Music playing in the bar clashed with the music being played in the kitchen.
A large collection of cutlery was being dried and dropped into the cutlery holder behind us, it was ridiculously loud! We thought it would never stop.
A very different experince from the beautiful room and comfort of our last visit.
