Beautiful Inn close to restaurants and shopping and yet tucked away in a charming neighborhood. Room was spacious and clean. We enjoyed the fireplace in our room on a chilly night. Reasonable price. Highly recommend.

Amazing Inn
What an amazing weekend at Shelter Harbor Inn. The property is so beautiful and cozy. A perfect New England Inn with the fires going inside, the smell of comfort, an amazing continental breakfast, a farm to table fantastic restaurant and staff that went above and beyond to make my staff perfect. Thank you all. I will see you soon.

quait, quite, comfy. unfortunately booked Monday/Tuesday, so Dining not an option. Mix up on spa for facial, also, where my wife waiting for attendant so never came. 35th anniversary reason booked for stay. employees were super nice, thoughtful.

We were there for two nights and were out all day. When we returned are room was never cleaned, beds not made, towels not replaced. We had to get our own towels. The amenities in the shower were old and hardly working. The heat and air needed to be updated. We were promised a continental breakfast. The first morning nothing but coffee and second morning really awful selection. They did say they are discontinuing their breakfast. That said they seem to be trying to improve and some of the staff are working hard at it.

We loved our stay here! It was quiet, peaceful, and quaint. The staff was SO friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed chatting with them during our stay. It was also so nice to have the restaurant portion available in the evenings for if we wanted to “stay in” for dinner or had a dessert craving. Gorgeous facility, yummy food, friendly staff, and an excellent place to spend a few days.

Great experience
My husband and I took a spur of the moment trip. The Inn is so cozy and the staff were super friendly. Paul the general manager was so accommodating . Dinner at the restaurant was exceptional.We got to know people from different parts of the country who were coming in for a wedding.I would definitely recommend this Inn and we will be back again soon.

Has potential, needs work!
The property itself was lovely, however, it lacked attention to detail in many aspects. This inn has so much potential if they only paid more attention to the details. It could be a wonderful "boutique" type inn. Upon entering our cottage, it smelled musty and of mildew. The AC unit did not work whatsoever despite someone coming over and trying to fix it. It never cooled and barely gave off air. Our room was for 4 people but the bedding for the sleeper sofa was not even in the bedroom! The bathroom did not have hand soap, not enough towels and the shower was moldy and dirty. The room lacked seating because if the sofa bed is open, it only left a desk chair to sit on. At breakfast, there was no trash can in sight and they should definitely consider including a few more items besides the cold mini quiches, bagels, croissants, yogurt & cereal. However, the food we had for dinner was fabulous! We had the seafood pasta and it was loaded with perfectly cooked scallops & shrimp and the burgers were great! I really hope management spends some time reading these reviews and makes some adjustments and changes.

We loved our stay at the Shelter Harbor Inn and will visit again. Our room was comfortable and spacious. The grounds are very pretty. The staff was wonderful and genuine. We ate dinner at the restaurant two nights of our 4 night stay and both meals were wonderful. There is a shuttle to one of the prettiest and quietest beaches we have ever been on and we are beach lovers. Our only suggestions for improvement would be an upgrade to the continental breakfast which was lacking and it would be lovely if they offered wine and beer for sale on the nights the restaurant is not open. Overall a wonderful stay and a good value for a September stay near the coast.

Needs some improvements
Adorable bed and breakfast, well appointed and stylish— however the musty smell of the room, no umbrella option on our huge sunny balcony, and lackluster breakfast options left a lot to be desired for the price paid. Seems they were quite short staffed.

The Staff here, especially Mark, make this place. We have stayed twice and the first room was very clean and modern and one of the least expensive. The restaurant is good and reasonably priced. We used the fire pits after dinner. The highlight is having Mark drive you to the beach and even provide chairs and a box lunch during beach season. Worth mentioning is that you cannot use the fireplace in late summer so I won’t spend the extra money again. We had some cleaning issues which were quickly addressed. We’ll be back!
