Very welcoming and helpful owner. Great local pub for a family dinner with excellent food at a very reasonable price. Lovely home cooked breakfast and great local knowledge / directions. Would HIGHLY recommend.
Very friendly, helpful owner. (When another couple left without umbrellas, he rushed after them to lend them umbrellas for the day.) Made an excellent suggestion for a nearby (driving distance) restaurant for dinner. It's affiliated with the butcher shop next store; so the food was divine. Rooms were good sized, beds were comfortable -- what more could one ask?
Ian was a wonderful host. Very enthusiastic and accommodating. He offered great advice for an afternoon walk after we arrived and for dinner that night. The breakfast was especially tasty. We highly recommend the Old Rectory for Cleveland Way walkers or those looking for a getaway.
Friendly hosts and lovely atmosphere. We enjoyed a fantastic breakfast, hot and freshly cooked. We will certainly stay again when we are in the area and will recommend to friends.
The hotel was fantastic, and the owners couldn't have been more friendly. I stayed as I was at a wedding in the area, and would highly recommend staying here to anyone wanting to visit the area.
Relaxed atmosphere ,perfect setting,excellent breakfast,
The host Ian enjoys is role and carries it out to perfection
At last !! Brownie points from my wife for my choice of accommodation,Happy days
What a wonderful, charming place to stay. Ian is a wonderful host and the accommodation is a credit to him and his wife. Beautiful decor and wonderful room and breakfast.
Would have no hesitation to stay again. Xx
Fabulous getaway in gorgeous part of Yorkshire. Ian's friendly hospitality, in outstanding surroundings, is second-to-none. We were made to feel really welcome and had a relaxed break - only slight downside was it wasn't really cold enough to use the log fire!! Seriously, we are already planning to base our next trip around staying at the Old Rectory.
Lovely old building, full of character and well furnished. Room was very comfortable and adjoining bathroom (for my sole use) was large and had both bath and shower. Very quiet setting in the countryside (on Cleveland Way) enables one to sleep well. Breakfast excellent - I think that Ian, the proprietor, would have been able to provide me with whatever I had asked for. What I requested was well cooked and of good quality. Would certainly stay again and be happy to recommend.
What a gem of a place! Superb location in the quiet village of Kildale, a short drive from Great Ayton or Stokesley.
Our room was very comfortable and very tastefully appointed. The breakfast was excellent, providing fruit, fruit juice, full English and toast. Would definitely recommend this place and we hope to return.
