Riverfront Retreat – Close to Glacier, Skiing – Private Hot Tub – River Views

Our spacious log home, with 4 bedrooms and room to sleep 8, sits right on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River and is just a quick 15-minute drive from the West entrance o Glacier National Park. It's the perfect home base for any adventure, featuring a hot tub, deck and firepit overlooking the river, fully stocked kitchen, large family dining table, washer and dryer, wireless internet, a gear room (for your boots, backpacks, boards, etc.), and a newly remodeled shower in the master bathroom.

We live in the area, so we are available if you need anything or have questions.

Conveniently located to many of the area’s amazing natural attractions, our home is 15 minutes away from the west entrance of Glacier National Park, 10 minutes from Hungry Horse Dam/Reservoir, 15 minutes from Columbia Falls, 25 minutes from downtown Whitefish, 40 minutes from Whitefish Mountain Ski Resort, and surrounded by some great local hiking, biking, rafting and fishing. The area is a haven for recreational activities in any season and an all-around travelers’ paradise. Check out all the Flathead Valley has to offer in Columbia Falls, Kalispell, Bigfork, Lakeside, Somers plus more.

Hidden in the small town of Hungry Horse in a quiet neighborhood along the river with trees and great indoor/outdoor space. Close to attractions, amenities yet peaceful. Approximately 15 miles from the West Glacier entrance, this cabin provides everything you would want for a memorable vacation!

The entire space is yours to enjoy.

This tranquil home is ideal for families and friends or even, business, with various options for indoor and outdoor common space as well as separate sleeping space throughout. Log walls and wood floors inside and the outdoor amenities create a cozy, natural feel for your stay in the heart of the Rockies.

All windows to the west offer amazing views of the river. You will find a fully stocked kitchen, dining area with views of the river and french doors to the back deck with barbeque, firepit and hot tub plus additional specious deck. Wood and propane are provided for your convenience. Pick a spot for your morning cup of coffee or evening beverage. This house has all the essentials plus more for you stay.

The second floor of the home has a large bedroom with a king-size bed, an ensuite bathroom with a newly remodeled shower as well as a living/sitting area complete with a Smart TV and the stunning views of the river.

The basement level has two bedrooms, one with a queen-size bed, and another with two twin beds. You will also find the washer and dryer along with supplies.

Enjoy this peaceful location close to all the Valley has to offer!

Due to the location and the relatively small population size of the area, there is not public transport options. Finding a ride with services like Lyft and Uber are a good choice but can vary in availability. Other options may may be available depending on the time of year and weather conditions.

Please be aware that Montana winter storms can hit hard and fast. You may want to consider renting a four-wheel drive in the winter months depending on your experience with weather conditions. We do have a snow removal company that will take care of plowing the driveway, and we do provide snow shovels and snow melt for use during your stay. Major storms will contribute to the timeliness of plowing so preparing accordingly is key.

The home is stocked with firewood and the private hot tub is open and serviced year-round as well.

Cellular service can be spotty in the area depending on your provider, weather conditions, etc. Generally, the wireless internet service in the house is reliable. However, you may not want to rely upon for high functioning activities on the internet. Service providers are limited for the area.

Wonderful place to stay
House is great and in a great location to the park quiet area close to town. The house was very nice and clean. It was probably the most fully stocked rental house me or my family have been to. They also provided bear spray. I read the reviews about the river which made me a little nervous at first considering I have a 8 and 4 year old. My take is that it’s great it’s not steep enough that they could fall off the edge but it is steep enough that they stayed away from it. The river does flow fast it’s not for swimming but you can definitely walk down to it my 60 mother was able to walk down and up it’s just a little steep. Over all it was a great stay if I come back to Glacier I would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful Cabin and Fantastic Views
The host was superb! Excellent and thorough communication! Easy to find cabin and easy to access. The keypad was simple to use. The cabin was immaculately clean and fully stocked with EVERY convenience/supplies. Modern true log cabin with all the amenities and comfort. The cabin overlooks the river and the deck with hot tub was so nice to relax and enjoy the river view. Routine hot tub servicing was so nice - we appreciated that the hot tub servicing was completed at the beginning of our stay and yet the servicing tech was completely unobtrusive and quiet. The cabin location was perfectly ideal in between Glacier National Park and Kalispell/Whitefish - it was about 10-15 minutes from GNP west entrance and about 25 minutes to downtown Whitefish. We highly recommend this cabin!

The living room was upstairs with the master bedroom which we never used. This house is really good for 2 couples with children, as the very bottom floor (where 2 bedrooms are located) feels unfinished where the air conditioning unit is open and the condensation pump loud at times. We had 4 couples and made it work. The beds are very comfortable but some of the towels had holes in them and the sheets worn and stained. The outside area with fire pit and river views are incredible.

Perfect house
The house was very clean with a perfect lay out for our family. I LOVE the revolving food idea. Use what was left and whatever you don’t use you can leave for the next group. House was stocked with everything that you would need. Hot tub was clean. Most of all I loved the outdoor sitting area with the fire pit.

Ok home base for activities in GNP
The cabin was nice. We used it to eat (some meals) and sleep. Not a space to spend an entire day. The chairs around the fire pit are broken and there is no living/family room space, just a weird sitting area outside the master bedroom. The hot tub was low on water and smelly and murky the first half of the week. The pictures and description read like you will be on the river. There was a cliff that stood between the house and the river. To get down to the river you had to use ropes and prayers. Not ideal for fishing or wading. Back on the inside, the stairs to the basement are narrow and dangerous (construction-like). The sink by the washer/dryer didn’t work. The lighting in the basement bedrooms reminded us of an office. There was no screen on the bedroom window on the first floor so you couldn’t even crack it for air circulation. Ice maker didn’t work. All the toiletries and “left overs” from previous guests were appreciated.

Great Base Camp for GNP!
This rental is a great base camp for GNP! It is about 15 mins from the airport and also about 15 mins from the west entrance to the park! Hungry Horse is a small but great little community, and there are grocery stores/restaurants nearby. Folks are super friendly. There is a train that runs through the area, but other than a tiny little whistle in the distance now and then, that's all we heard (which is not the case with some of the Columbia Falls rentals where the windows actually rattle!). The property/pictures are as described. There is now central a/c which really helped during our visit b/c it was unusually hot with highs in the mid 90s during the day. There were also active wildfires in the area during our stay, but the property manager made sure to post updates at our house (e.g., whether we were in stage 1 or 2 fire restrictions, etc.). If you can, check the rental before shopping b/c you may be surprised how much you find! We enjoyed our stay so much that we re-booked for next year! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is there was a slight misunderstanding with the window blinds situation. I asked before booking if there were any blinds on the bedroom windows due to the fact we're light sleepers and was told there were. Only to arrive and discover there were not. That was a minor snafu, and we just made do. Obviously not too big of an issue as we're staying again next August! Would recommend this property!

Nice home
The place looked just like pics. We really wanted to spend a lot of time in hot tub (which is reason why we rented the home)and when we got there it wasn’t filled. Had to wait quite a while for it to be filled and hot enuf to use. The comforters need washed (I would not have wanted a black light to confirm my suspicions) for as much as we paid to stay I would’ve expected clean beds. Other than that it was a fun time. Had to request the refund of my damage deposit. Shouldn’t have had to ask for that almost a month later.
