Good location and convenient parking for bringing in luggage. The room was clean and the bed was fairly comfortable. The air conditioning however was not very strong and we couldn't seem to adjust it.

A great property, lovely room, very clean & well appointed. Staff was wonderful & even called us to say we had left an item! Amazing, comfortable bed, much needed after 9 days in uncomfortable hotel beds! Could use better lighting outside at night , we weren't sure about the property when we arrived but it was lovely in the daylight, great view with nice flowers!! This is definitely a gem!!

It was okay. I trusted reviews and reserved the place - its just fine. Good location but it's old property. Bed and everything was relatively clean for the age but ceiling of bathroom had over 10 dead dried mosquitos.

Solid Stay!
Located right before the start of the Cabot Trail, this is a good place to stay before heading off to either the Cheticamp side or Ingonish side of the road trip. About the stay; the Manager and staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, the room was clean, and the shower was great. The pillows and the bed were so-so and the kettle in our room looked a bit rusty, but otherwise the room was comfortable. Sleep was overall good. The room got very dark with the blackout curtains and noise cancelling between rooms was excellent. However, the air conditioning was very loud (low-pitched, rumbly noises) and the alarm clock occasionally made static noises.

The motel was very comfortable. View of the water from the front. It was a distance away from restaurants, but we found a good take out and got a burger to take back to the motel. There were 2 friendly labs on the property that watched over everyone.

Clean. Powerful shower, which was great. The room was a bit dim and there were no surfaces or hooks on which to put things in the bathroom or elsewhere. The check in folks were easy and friendly.

Fantastic room, with lots of fresh air and a nice little kitchenette. The bed was comfortable and we had our first good sleep after a week for travels. The front staff was fantastic and accommodated a slightly earlier check in. Location was fantastic as we weren't right off the highway, but a bit higher up.

Nice location due to water near by. The rooms have had an update but there is a smell that’s a bit tough to deal with. Bathroom window is up to high to see out of. There is an AC unit fit super loud and might be where the smell is coming from. Beds were double sized. Bedding was nice. Appeared clean. There is a pool for guest use. Main windows do not seem to lock.

I was hesitant to go to a motel that wasn't a "chain" or "brand" motel/hotel. However, I was VERY pleased with my one night stay. Everything was very clean. The beds were very comfortable. All the "expected" amenities were in my room plus a few more extras that I really appreciated. I would definitely stay there again.

Nice, economical alternative to Baddeck Hotels
We stayed at the Fair Isle Motel for two nights (two adults and two children under 10). We were pleased to find the room clean and well equipped with a mini fridge, coffee maker, etc. Our kids really enjoyed the pool and trampoline as well. The only issue we had was a tricky lock and a toilet that kept running despite the staff’s best efforts to fix it. Charlene’s Restaurant is very close by and serves the most delicious seafood chowder I’ve ever tasted! The location was a little farther from Baddeck than I realized - about a half hour drive. The staff was also very helpful when my husband called a few days later in search of a lost backpack (which we ended up finding somewhere else). Overall, a good place for families and a nice alternative to the more expensive hotels in Baddeck.
