After checking in. Opened my room and found that the room had not been cleaned. Was informed someone would be there shortly to clean, after 25 minutes received a text telling me to come to the front desk for a new room key. Upon checking out i once again voiced my displeasure, wanting a reduction but was infromed they had to get approval. Its been 3 days since i checked out and i am still having troble getting a hold of anyone to answer my complaint. No corporate phone number available. I guess it was good that this wasnt a high season for them.

The stay was pretty nice. Friendly staff and clean environment. It was inconvenient on the last day when our keycards quit working an hour before check out due to technical difficulties.

Several hotel options (Ramada, Hampton Inn, etc.) across the street from Wingate and down the road there’s a motel option (Motel 6) as well. KwikTrip convenience store nearby. Culver’s, Pizza Hut, Denny’s right next to Wingate too. Tesla supercharger also next to Culver’s. Very nice area with the water parks, MagiQuest game room and a dinner show entertainment spot nearby too. Walmart 1.5mi away for anything more. My only advice is to open the Wingate fitness center earlier than 9am….🕘 With the age restriction, there shouldn’t be much noise, if any at all, to worry about. And, if noisy, address it, but don’t restrict the time from 9am to 9pm. At 6am, I’d like to swing a couple of dumbbells. This is not a noisy activity.

Overall, the hotel was clean. The room was clean. The only problem was the pool and hot tub area was under reconstruction, though the hotel did refund the resort fee. excellent breakfast a lot of variety.

We booked here for our anniversary through "the travel website thats starts with Ex". We arranged for a sitter and someone to take care of our dogs for the first time in years (literally). The hotel called us the morning we were checking in to say they had given our room to someone who wanted to extend their stay AND the only way to get our refund was for ME to call Expedia. After an hour on hold with the travel company we got our money back but this experience was the worst Ive ever had with a hotel (except the time our local Wyndham promised a shuttle for our wedding guests then didnt provide it - so I guess maybe this was a fitting anniversary surprise lol). Never again will I extend my trust (or money!) to this hotel brand. But if you take a chance, save yourself the headache and book direct.

Check in was very easy. Staying at the hotel was very pleasant. Clean warm, spacious, room, ample parking, well maintained pool and hot tub, during check in they gave us a booklet with coupons for various entertainment and we used it. Free breakfast and a large selection of creamer flavors. I recommend this hotel!

HIDDEN CHARGES!
HIDDEN CHARGES! I paid in full for my room through hotels.com, but this dishonest place tacked on a secret $22 "resort fee"! There was no "resort"! I simply needed a place to sleep one night on a business trip. I called customer service and a rude, snippy woman gave me the runaround. Thankfully, hotels.com agreed to refund the money the hotel confiscated against my will. DO NOT STAT HERE!

Dissapointing. I spent extra on a room with a fireplace for my wife's birthday only to find out that all the fireplaces in the building were currently nonfunctional at this time. Why didn't they mention that when reserving the room or at check-in?! Then trying to sleep while the area above us sounded like a herd of elephants running around was a challenge too. Not a great birthday surprise for my wife. Will not be staying again or recommending to others.
