About this property

Entire place

Near Suffolk Coast & Forest

Cozy beamy cottage in a quite village, pretty garden, on Tunstall Common, very near Rendlesham forest, Snape music, Orford quay, Aldeburgh beach. Fantastic for walking, cycling, culture, food, lots to do with great country and coastal surroundings.

The space

Downstairs
A small cozy sitting room full of beams and original stone floor, with two sofas, a TV and wifi. Opening into the kitchen with a table to sit everyone.
There is all you need to cook as well as a washing machine.

The bathroom is downstairs with a bath, shower head, basin and loo (although we would love to have added a stand up shower with curtain sadly this isn't possible so it is just a hand held),

There is a small conservatory porch for you coats, boots and stuff.

Upstairs
Bedroom 1: Master bedroom with a kingsize bed, en suite loo and wardrobes.
Bedroom 2: Twin bedroom, beds can be pushed together to make a double, but they are 2 single beds.
Bedroom 3: Small kids bunk bed room.

Outside
Large enclosed garden, with lockable shed for bikes and lots of parking. Right on the edge of forest and heathland for amazing walking and cycling. Pets very welcome

There is a things to do and places to go guide in the house as well as Ordnance Survey maps, games and magazines.

If you are looking for a base while out at work, event or wedding then the cottage works well for 6, but if you want to spend a longer time enjoying the cottage and surroundings then we would recommend up to 4 adults and 2 children.

Clean house really close to wonderful forest
In truth, I chose Abi's cottage because most other self catering cottages in East Suffolk, which had availability in school hols at the time I was booking, were obscenely expensive for parents, teachers and teaching assistants like myself. I was delighted to find the house super-clean, comfortable and very close to the excellent Tunstall Forest. You might want to take a small sharp chopping knife and your favourite chopping board(I'm not keen on wooden blocks) and a long length of rope to use as a washing line. Garden area is weedy and a bit uneven but would be fine for non-jumping dogs to play in and ok for sitting at the bench in the evening. A bit surprised that the advertised wood effect wood burner had been removed as a cosy glow in the evenings would have been nice. Someone had left a very nasty black lava mess in base of oven which obviously I have just left. Thanks Abi for sharing your cosy cottage at a reasonable cost.

Perfect House for Suffolk stay
This property provided everything we wanted and needed. Lovely, clean and gorgeous cottage. Near to lots of sights and beaches, we visited Aldeburgh, Sutton Hoo, Framlingham, Sizewell and upmarket Woodbridge. Cooked a dinner first night, had everything we needed to cook, milk, oil and even cava left for us, lots of pots and pans ect. Boys loved the garden. Near to lots of sights, no places seemed too far. We will return. Many thanks, grateful to have found a cute place like this ❤️

We enjoyed a couple of days here. The house was perfect for our requirements and the location great for getting to places nearby. The icing on the cake was the tractors going past in the morning which my 3 year old absolutely loved!

Wonderful house in beautiful Suffolk
After a week in London this was the perfect place for our family of five to have some calm days to relax. The house is clean and cosy, everything you need in the kitchen. Really nice bedrooms, and a beautiful private garden. The surroundings are amazing, we recommend strolling through Aldebourgh, boating in Thorpeness and the Framingham Castle! Many thanks to Abi, who takes great care of this house, with her own pictures on the walls!
