Traditional Japanese inns (Ryokan) are known for exceptional service in caring for their guests; from greeting you upon arrival, through preparing the futon while dining, to wishing you well on your journey upon departure. In these respects Yakushima Green Hotel meets all expectations.
However, during our family stay the Yakushima Green Hotel staff exceeded all reasonable expectations.
Dinner at the hotel was our first experience with a traditional, high class Japanese meal (washoku). The meal was exquisitely prepared and, as my older daughter stated, was such a work of art it seemed a shame to eat it. Although the rest of us relished the experience of trying new things (there were no less than 9 separate dishes) my younger daughter was overwhelmed to the point of tears.
After I took her back to the room the staff took the time, despite my poor Japanese language skills, to understand my daughter’s feelings and plan for a much simpler breakfast.
1,500 characters is insufficient to properly express my gratitude to the staff and give a full detail of their efforts to ensure a comfortable stay and an enjoyable experience.
For this incredible service the staff at Yakushima Green Hotel have earned the highest praise!
