All pretty good not been since it got the hotton title..bedroom 313 was bit to warm and windows dont open...shaving mirror glass broken, hairdryer safety guard wouldn't stay shut and attachment didnt belong to that model...no biscuits left on hospitality tray 2nd night..little things but not up to hilton standards... Breakfast room fine but only 1 guy doing everything...quality food...coffee machine also does hot water so long wait sometimes..glasses, spoons, cups all seem to run out once it gets to 9 o'clock...have to keep asking said guy.... Reception ok looked after our bags before and after check in/out..she was a bit rushed when we were checking out as a queue had built up so i didnt get chance to tell her the niggles and she didnt ask how our stay was... I would return..if i get a deal.

It was the third time we visit this hotel and this time we've found it substantially less clean than other times, having to request extra towel as one of the ones we had was absolutely dirty and we had no shampoo in the room. Floors (including carpet) weren't that clean as well.

Elmbank is a 20 minute walk from city centre, but there is also a regular bus service right outside and going late into the night. The room was small but beautiful, finished to a very high standard. The communal areas and bar were a lovely place to sit and relax after a day of sight seeing by an open fire.

We have visited York many times, but 1st time in this hotel. Beautiful art nouveau decor. The room was nice but the staircase to the second floor was just beside us and you could hear people going up and down. There were a couple of ladies ladies in the room above, who were speaking very loudly until 2.00am! The breakfast was excellent, not a lot of choice but very good produce and kept hot. The cocktail bar was a bit of a let down as the young girls didn’t have a clue as how to make them. Overall a good stay but could have been better.
