I booked the George Walton Junior Suite which should have included a pull-out sofa bed in addition to a king-sized bed but was given a deluxe suite instead of the George Walton suite which was a much smaller room. I was charged $366 for one night. An exhorbitant amount for one night! There was no smart TV as advertized and no complimentary robe and slippers as it posted in the write -up room description. I stayed @ this hotel back in March of this year, stayed in the George Walton junior suite for $99 and it was delightful. I am requesting a refund of 1/2 of what I was charged. I asked the lady at the front desk if I was indeed in the room that I booked back in August through Expedia and she said it was NOT the room that I booked and was charged for! I need a refund since the hotel was booked solid and couldn’t change my room!

A must stay at the Elmbank
Excellent room with room service and an excellent night sleep, very comfortable bed cannot recommend the george Walton junior king suite enough.

Pictures were wonderful but that was the best part. Has a pretty reception and dining area. Room attractive but not well maintained. Bedside light broken. Heating did not work so we froze all night.

We stayed at this hotel last year and really enjoyed it however we are disappointed that this year they tried to charge us £17 each for breakfast even though it says £12 on your website. When questioning it we were told it includes service charge. Well I've never had to pay a service charge for breakfast in a hotel especially for a self service breakfast.We eventually agreed to pay £15 even though this was still 25% more than it should have been. Needless to say we won't be staying there next year.

After some of the reviews, we didn’t expect much but the hotel was pretty good. The staff were universally excellent and friendly, particularly those on the bar on the Friday. The hotel was very dog friendly- you can’t go into the restaurant but everything there is available in the lounge and bar and it’s much better there for dogs anyway. The food was Hilton, so nothing good but nothing bad. They have preserved the original fittings which was excellent. Expedia hadn’t passed on our message about bringing a dog so we were put in the courtyard rooms that others had complained about - but they were great rooms. Well appointed and comfortable. Of course it wasn’t completely perfect. The toilet was sort of wedged between the door and the sink. I wouldn’t have wanted to be any fatter! And I think there should be a toilet brush but I know others don’t like that. It’s easily walkable to the old city where there are fabulous dining options. We would stay here again for sure.

The main part of the hotel is in a very distinctive Art Nouveau style. The courtyard extension is like a Premier Inn! I complained as was moved into the main hotel without any problem. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast buffet is excellent. Only negative was that no water was provided in my minibar by housekeeping for 2 nights.

All pretty good not been since it got the hotton title..bedroom 313 was bit to warm and windows dont open...shaving mirror glass broken, hairdryer safety guard wouldn't stay shut and attachment didnt belong to that model...no biscuits left on hospitality tray 2nd night..little things but not up to hilton standards... Breakfast room fine but only 1 guy doing everything...quality food...coffee machine also does hot water so long wait sometimes..glasses, spoons, cups all seem to run out once it gets to 9 o'clock...have to keep asking said guy.... Reception ok looked after our bags before and after check in/out..she was a bit rushed when we were checking out as a queue had built up so i didnt get chance to tell her the niggles and she didnt ask how our stay was... I would return..if i get a deal.
