Romantic, calming, dreamy character house in the centre of the village

Set in an alley, this house has been renovated in an elegant way, yet keeping all of its charm and character that have been tied to it from the days it was built around 400 years ago. Walking about 50 metres into the alley one finds Ta' Drinu, and on entering the house, one finds a small yard with plants and a water feature. Upon entering the house one finds himself in a 42 square meter living room with round sofa, jacuzzi, and 46 inch LED TV. Next to this room is a separate dining room, a well equipped kitchen, and a shower room. A staircase from the living room leads to the bedroom with en suite shower and a 50 square meter roof terrace with garden, outdoor sofa, dining table for 4 and BBQ.

Lovely Quiet Residential area quirky building
Great place to stay away from the busy tourist areas but easy to access them. Great bar/cafe in the square, 13 Euro taxi into the centre of Valletta, 30 minutes walk to the Grand Harbour at Birgu. Exceptional place to stay if you're looking for a quiet retreat with local interest.

Lovely house in a quiet neighborhood
Loved staying at Ta’ Drinu. Very spacious and equipped very well. Mary Rose even included food items and bottled water. Zabbar is a quiet, not touristy neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of Valletta - relaxing and so quiet at night. Easy walk to bus stops for transit to anywhere in Malta. Wonderful stay.

Quirky & comfy
An interesting house to stay in - beautifully restored. A bit different from the usual holiday home. We enjoyed the upstairs patio and the jacuzzi. The bedroom was comfortable. Kitchen well equipped and had everything we needed. Adrian met us when we arrived and was very helpful in suggesting local places to visit - and the nearest supermarket.

A beautiful historic building with plenty of outdoor space to enjoy the sunshine. Spotlessly clean and really helpful hosts who met us at the airport. We drove all over the island and would recommend a hire car in order to be able to do this. Highly recommended

Unique experience
Such a unique place to stay and a fantastic property. Communication with the hosts was second to none, they arranged our transfer, with Frank, and there was a lovely surprise with the welcome bits and pieces. Location was ideal. Local shops were handy and the bakery had super fresh bread. We purchased the 7 day bus pass for only 21euros and found this a great way to get in and out of Valletta and other areas of Malta. We would highly recommend this property for a wonderful stay, especially with the jacuzzi, what a way to relax at the end of a busy sight seeing day. Thank you to Mary Rose and Adrian.

Wonderful!
Mary Rose and Adrian are terrific, promptly answering our questions and offering lots of tips and advice. Their home is unique - a true Malta experience - and we loved it. The town continues to reflect the Maltese culture, which we especially appreciated. It's within walking distance of all sorts of interesting places, and handy to a bus stop that can take you to Valetta and beyond.You should go!

Excellent Apartment
Lovely place to stay very clean and welcoming has everything you need. Also bought some bits for the fridge to start us off with. Very helpful. Short walk to local shop and pharmacy, bakery , butchers also bus stops. I would highly recommend staying here we had a great time. And the owners are only a phone call or message away if you need help.

Highly recommend
The house is as lovely as it looks in the photos. Well equipped if you want to cook or just chill out. The local bus service is great, we travelled all over the island. We had an unexpected power cut due to windy weather and Adrian came straight over with candles. Lovely, helpful hosts and a beautiful house - what more could you want?

Gorgeous Getaway
My husband and I stayed for over a week here and we loved every moment. Mary Rose and Adrian were the perfect hosts. They were extremely easy to communicate with and were there on site when we arrived. They gave us a tour and even stocked the fridge with some essentials for us! My husband and I relaxed in the jacuzzi each night while planning out the next day of our trip. We highly recommend a stay at one of of Mary Rose and Adrian's properties. 5 star hosts for sure!

Our Malta Experience
We arrived at the apartment after a short journey from the airport and we’re shown around. It is an absolutely beautiful and you will not be disappointed! People were friendly and we loved our taxi driver, Frank, who was always available to take us places whenever asked. Amazing historical places to visit a bus or taxi ride away. If you are looking for sandy beaches, you will need to travel quite far e.g. West or North of Malta. Otherwise, we had an amazing time! Thank you.

We were not disappointed with this stay. Indeed it exceeded our expectations. It was clean, modern and had all the amenities. We used public transport which was easy to use and there was a shop across the square. Our hosts met us and dealt immediately with our little request. We would come again and recommend it to others.

Absolute perfection ...
I wish we could offer more than 5* - this was an absolutely beautiful and breathtaking stay. The hosts certainly thought of everything for the perfect romantic getaway. Malta is such a beautiful jewel - getting around was so easy - the food was delicious - learning about the history of the Island and visiting the cathedral in Valletta was great. Mdina and Mosta were stunning places. The views across the Grand Harbour - simply breathtaking ... Thank you Mary-Rose & Adrian for organising transport to and from the airport - we really hope to return in the near future.

A wonderful time
I booked the house for my parents, and they had a short break in early January. My parents really enjoyed themselves, and felt that the house was warm, well situated and comfortable, and that the owners, Adrian and Mary Rose, were generous and hospitable - to which I can attest from our email exchanges. Their kindness in meeting my parents at the airport and directing them to the property was much appreciated. The house is full of character but had everything they needed, and my parents loved the fact that the house was not in a touristy area, as they got to see a more "authentic" Malta.

A perfect place to call home while experiencing Malta.
It was everything & more than we had hoped for. Romantic. Charming. Relaxing. Incredibly well restored. Functional. The photos are exactly as the property is. Mary Rose and Adrian are incredibly accommodating. They arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport and let us leave our luggage while they finished cleaning as we arrived earlier than check in time. The hot tub, kept at a cool temperature, was a life saver usually a few times a day to relax sore muscles from walking and cooling off from the heat. Be sure to use Frank, the driver they use, to get you around the island. And when he can’t take you, use ECAB. Zabbar area is not a tourist area at all. There are few restaurants or sights to see so you will need to get to some of the other areas is you want to see some of the history or experience the great food. There are a few supermarkets close by to buy food. About a twenty minute walk each way. We found the public transit confusing and time consuming so used Frank and ECAB taxis. Zabbar and this house were a perfect place to have a home base while there. We highly recommend staying there.

True Maltese gem
Our family of four enjoyed our stay here in this home of character. The property and space was very clean, well equipped and was close to small markets to purchase some provisions for our week in Malta. We hired a small vehicle and there was always space to park. Adrianne and Mary Rose were fantastic and accommodating. They went above and beyond and even picked up and hand delivered us a birthday cake as well as balloons in the morning of our daughters 9th birthday upon our request. Super! The property is a gem and located off the beaten path. We explored Gozo, Comino, most of Malta during the week and came home to enjoy the jacuzzi and had glasses of wine on the roof deck after the days exploration. It is a close drive to the port town of Vittoriossa where you can hire a small boat to take you over to Valletta. (Super) Friday is jazz nights at the bridge bar and fantastic atmosphere;-) the park in Valletta is a very memorable sunset experience. We definitely recommend this property as the neighborhood is safe and tucked away in a traditional Maltese residential area. Safe travels and enjoy!!
