The pick up at the airport.was there on time. We were greeted by name by the front desk staff. They were very friendly and no question was ever brushed off. All the staff at the hotel and restaurant were friendly. We felt very safe for the whole time we were there. Thank you so very much!

Terrible management and a totally overpriced hotel! Sea view rooms actually look at the pool! The explanation is that Sea view is not see front! Very dishonest way to pump the price up and disappoint... Don't bother...there are better places to stay in town. Go to the Serena instead

Enjoyed our evening at Tembo House. The facility is beautiful, and the location is amazing - right on the edge of Stonetown and right on the beach. We really enjoyed the breakfast, and revisited later on our stay in Zanzibar for lunch and again, were very pleased with the restaurant and the staff. One note: Stonetown is a very busy area - lots of people and traffic, especially noisy pikipikis (motorcycles) so you cannot expect things to be super quiet at night. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs.

Hotel room was comfortable but not that big and I thought I paid for ocean view and received only partial view of the ocean. Hotel allowed too many people from outside or other hotels for breakfast so it was always full and not pleasant. Hotel has no liquor license therefore I couldn’t enjoy sunset on the deck with glass of wine. Hotel staff were amazing, very attentive and friendly. I loved it.

Excellent location in a historic property. Lots of action on the beach in front of the hotel and at the doorstep of Stonetown shopping. Two pools, rooftop infinity one is awesome.

Beautiful!!
Tembo House was one of the most beautiful and unique hotels my wife and I have ever stayed it. It is walking distance to the heart of Stone Town and the Freddie Mercury museum, also has stunning views of the water and all the boats. Comfortable, clean, vibrant, and gorgeous! The staff was incredibly friendly, warm, and attentive. They were nice enough to hold onto our bags in a secure room while we went on safari for a few days as well. Will definitely be coming back here the next time we’re in Zanzibar!

I booked a king bed and received 2 single beds. The A/C was not working so I told the front desk at 1330 PM that the unit needed to be checked it wasn’t working or I wanted another room. They sent someone from the front desk with a service tech around 2200 PM to check the unit. After repair it worked for a bit but stop putting out cold air in the early morning hours. Very inconsiderate of my needs but didn’t have a problem taking my money, and I didn’t even get what I paid for. Poorly ran operation.

The team were fantastic! We were in the Shoki Shoki room which was huge and very clean. The receptionist was welcoming (you could tell he was busy but still made the arrival smooth and easy) Right on the beach and so close to all amenities. If you’re looking for a place in Stone Town - this is it!

The hotel is situated on the beach in Stone Town which is really convenient for exploring the town. Our room was big and everything worked as it should. The hotel has a restaurant on the beach and the breakfast was a buffet spread. There are also 3 pools in the hotel. Overall, a decent hotel.
