Lovely, quiet oasis
El Meson is a small hotel just two blocks from the center of San Miguel de Allende. It has a lovely garden courtyard centered around a small pool. We spent mornings in the patio drinking our coffee and planning our day. The staff was very helpful, although not all speak much English. The restaurant is beautiful with an interesting menu, although we did not have a chance to use it other than for drinks. Room 10 is a huge quiet room on the second floor with a great view of the courtyard. We'd go back in a heartbeat!

Gorgeous & Great location to El Jardin
I was visiting for 2 days with my parents and sister and were in the junior suite. Overall it is a picturesque little hotel in the center and we were we taken care of.We had a lovely time as we were able to hang in the center garden, around the pool, relax, do some work and have some drinks which is all we were asking for. The design was nice even though I would have preferred a regular bed over an uncomfortable sofabed but that was probably my biggest complaint. The in-house bar was also nicely done with sweet bartenders. Overall I would come back in a heartbeat.

Small charming hotel, very centrally located and set back so really quiet despite its location. Free parking & wifi and extremely helpful staff. Shower pressure was better than I have at home with no shortage of very hot water.

We loved this hotel. Quiet and perfect location.
Lovely rooftop terrace, relaxing pool area, kind and helpful staff. Rooms are ultra- clean, fresh and very modern and bright. We have two young boys and staff were very accomodating. A perfect stay. Highly recommended, I would absolutely stay here again.

Close to everything!
We stayed in El Meson for a couple of days. Hotel was in the process of remodeling the Martini Bar area, so we weren't able to enjoy. They did upgrade us to a 2 story suite, but the sofa bed downstairs was 2 out of 5 star. Upstairs bed was excellent with a nice bathroom. Overall, hotel was 3 1/2 stars in a nice location. Some employees were extremely helpful while others were not. Overall, I would stay there again because of its location. Really enjoyed our 2 nights there. San Miguel was beautiful!!

Amazing Location and some small misses
This is a wonderful hotel near the main square and on the same block as Starbucks. The staff moved quickly at arrival, helping to unload the car and whisk the car away to a safe location. The room was comfortable, but inconvenient being on two separate floors. The upstairs was fantastic. However the downstairs had a lot to be desired - both pull-out beds were a bit "toddler like" and slightly inclined. The window didn't have a curtain and therefore the room wasn't dark at night. Finally, because the door was on the main floor, we weren't comfortable with both kids sleeping downstairs. That meant an inclined short bed for me. The pool was a fabulous treasure, small, but deep. The chocolate cake wasn't too our liking and cost too much (compared to other prices in the city) at $10 a piece. Overall, I'd probably look to stay elsewhere. I prefer more comfort in the room, but the location and pool were awesome.
