Great location
The stay didn’t start too well when we found the parking was in a public car park 5 minutes walk away. This cost 37 CHF overnight, with the hotel discount. The staff were universally fabulous, lovely check in and explained where all the Christmas markets were. Our room was basic and small but everything worked and was clean. The desk was a good size for a laptop and kettle, all the essentials! The buffet breakfast was surprisingly good with lots of options. The location was wonderful, literally in the heart of Zurich old town so it was aptly named!

We had a great time in Zurich. The property is centrally located and within walking distance from all major attractions in the City. The room and the hotel was clean and we especially loved the cafe on the ground floor. We definite recommend this place for someone visiting Zurich for the first time.

Great hotel, especially the location; couldn't ask for better. Quiet and peaceful, even with the massive amount of street work being done. Bravo! Comfortable room other than: 1. Can't control thermostat to room and they literally have the heat on way too high. We were not the only guests complaining. 2. Pillows were horrible, basically useless. People need neck support when sleeping.

This was such a cute boutique hotel. The rooftop terrace was amazing; a wonderful place to relax after a long travel day. Lovely, comfortable room and bed. Excellent location for walking around the shops snd enjoying the old part of town. There were so many restaurants close by to choose from and the attached coffee/bar was perfect for a night cap. Breakfast was full of delicious meats, cheese, pastry and even an egg maker. Great night at this hotel, highly recommended.

Great little hotel
We enjoyed our stay at Altstadt. The location is great, employees are great and breakfast was great. The only reason I wont give 5 stars was the beds are low (we are old) and there is no central air. That being said we were there in September so with windows open and fans on it was comfortable.
