When we arrived at the hotel the power was out. Hurricane Helene had hit. Although we had called ahead to be certain everything in Abingdon was safe and okay before going, the power was still on at that time so no one could know that shortly that would no longer be the case. We had to carry luggage up pitch black stairs. No help from anyone on staff. We were told breakfast would be served the next morning, regardless of the circumstances. That was not true. No offers were made to discount the rate, to adjust for the lack of power and a/c, to even address it in any way. The key cards were just handed over. I am certain the staff was in distress trying to adjust to the situation, but the absolute lack of assistance or concern or even an offer to adjust the hotel rates under the circumstances was unexpected.

I do apologize for your recent experience. As with any natural disaster, the staff was doing their best. We have no control over the power or mother nature so we did our best to accommodate anyone that wanted to be out of the storm. With roads being flooded, power outages, heavy rain and winds, and with a state of emergency, we worked with our team members who were able to come to work, but we also understood that several employees could not make it into work so the staff worked over to help our guests anyway they could. We did offer our guests the option to cancel prior to check in due to the power outage. It was beyond our control and we had did all we could with little resources as the power outage put the entire area into a fenzy. I do apologize about this experience and hope you understand that this was an isolated event that this area has never experienced before with over 1 million people being impacted in the surrounding areas. I hope that you will give us the opportunity to make your next stay great when there isnt a natural disaster in the area. Once again we thank you for your understanding

Wonderful stay!!!

Had a wonderful stay. Beautiful room with comfy beds, very quiet. Breakfast choices were good and hot. Looking forward to my next visit.

Pleasant staff upon check in and provided info sheet on local eateries. Staff was very responsive to our concern on bed linens and quickly moved us to an upgraded room.
