First time in Africa

The location was reasonable considering traffic, and the time of day we travel to, and from Accra. The house was nicely prepared for us. The property manager gave detailed instructions. The house is at the end of a unpaid street am I Driver had to go slow but steady overall well worth the price.

Awesome stay at Baldwin Beauty House. Belinda and Kojo were great from the start. Very accommodating for our check-in which had to be late night but they stayed around and waited for us. Gorgeous place you guys got! Even left us some complimentary supplies. Maintenance issues and water issue we encountered were all very promptly attended to that we did not even feel those issues happened. Left us with enough electricity and internet data in the wi-fi modem that lasted us our entire stay. The stand-by generator was a plus. We only had normal power go off one night for a while and during that time we switched to the generator that had enough fuel to see us through the short period normal electricity power was off. Come check-out time, Belinda and Kojo were there and made the process very seem less. Thank you guys and we will certainly recommend this location to anyone. Looking forward to our next visit already 😎

FIRST TIME ON THE CONTINENT AND IN ACCRA

The home itself is immaculate; loved the attention to cleanliness detail. There are several windows in the open living area I loved that provided beautiful sunlight during the days. And, while I did not utilize the kitchen for cooking much, I did cook one meal in the kitchen and loved the availability of the gas range cook top. The comfort of security (gated and enclosed compound) was a draw as well for me when booking this rental, very secure and private. I most certainly will book this home again upon my next stay in Ghana.

We arrived in Ghana December 14 and got to the house at around 11:30pm and it took over 20mins for us to be let in the house as the door bell didn’t work and B & J were asleep and didn’t hear the cell phone ringing but after we went inside everything was okay we just ate and went to bed. The next morning I walked around the house and everything was ok. The lights went out a few days after we got there and we noticed it was just the house so we tried contacting the hosts to no avail so we slept in the dark and heat till the next afternoon when they finally contacted me back and I was informed there was a problem with the meter and they have been trying to get ECG to fix it but they haven’t showed up to fix it and they were going to send an electrician to fix it and they did. They were supposed to clean up twice for us but it only happened one time and when I asked about the second cleaning which was way overdue Abel apologized and said she wasn’t feeling good that is why she didn’t come which I thought wasn’t professional because she could’ve sent Joe to do it. The house was nice overall it just needs to be cleaned properly that is all and also the trash situation wasn’t the best in my opinion.

Thank you for your review Akua. We are sorry for the inconveniences you had to go through. However, we will also like to respond to you, as we believe it’s only fair. You spoke about check in being a problem. Two hosts waited for you at the apartment. You checked in about two hours later than you said you would but we waited anyways. We didn’t receive any call nor texts, till we heard a car horn, which we quickly opened the gate. We acknowledge that there was a bit of an issue with electricity. We worked on it as soon as we saw your messages. The response from us came quite later due to the fact that it was so late and none of us were awake at that time. We however got back to it the next day, called an electrician to check it out as soon as possible. It took a while to get it fixed all due to your lack of quick response, as we needed to know if the problem had been solved. Communication from your side was really a huge challenge. We couldn’t confirm if the issue had been resolved which led to the electrician coming there multiple times. You can attest to this because you said it yourself that your husband who was home at that time couldn’t be reached by you and so solving this dragged. With the cleaning, we accept we faulted with the number of days. Belinda texted you asking if it was okay to do it a day or two later, and you failed to respond, making it difficult to get this done. Handling of the trash too became an issue because of lack of communication and availability from your side. We had our trash guy come a couple of times and we couldn’t get back to you. Inadequate communication and unavailability really made things difficult for us. This can even be traced back to where we did the first cleaning and we had to wait at the house for several hours after just so you return so we also get the chance to leave. We even helped you book Uber rides, which is even above normal expectations. We feel we did very good with you. Your review was quite unexpected as we feel most of these issues came about due to not communicating so well with us. Thank you for your concerns regardless.
