Disappointing Hampton

This is actually one of the worse Hampton Inns I have stayed in. While the check-in clerk seemed friendly at first, things didn't continue so great. This hotel offers no complimentary check-in cookies or water - unlike many Hampton Inns. The room key would not work - no matter how many times tried, or how many keys were substituted. We both could not leave the room at the same time or we wouldn't get back in. I complained greatly to the clerk. Hampton offered no adjustment to the bill. Property shows a lot of signs of needing updating. Franchise owner appears to be running this one into the ground. Breakfast was typical of the lower end Hamptons.

Myself, my husband and our 3 children booked this hotel after my son was admitted to Brenner's Children's hospital unexpectedly as we live over an hour away. The staff, and especially the manager (I think her name is Crystal) have been PHENOMENAL! They are incredibly kind, helpful and sympathetic. As soon as they heard about our situation they went above and beyond to make our lives as easy as they could in our difficult situation. The property and our room is clean and comfortable. The breakfast they offer for free is hot and delicious and there's lots of options! The pool area has just been painted and they have a large pool, a hot tub and TWO huge waterslides! The best part of the pool area is definitely the slides and a huge bonus is that the slides do NOT drop into a pool. So kids, like my special needs son, that can't swim, can still go on the slides and you don't have to worry about them drowning. There's also a small arcade! We stayed for 3 nights (we originally booked 2 but we needed an extra night while waiting for the Ronald McDonald house to get us in and they went above and beyond to give us an extra night at a rate we could afford. Which is incredible seeing as this was on a holiday weekend!) and we were happy and comfortable the entire stay! There's also several restaurants and shops right next door. Thank you so much to the staff at Hampton Inn for making a hard time less difficult and for going above and beyond! We would recommend to EVERYONE!
