Everything at the lodge was good but could have been great with improved communication. Our family of four arrived at the same time as a group and we were offered the options to joint their tours on an expedited schedule (four days of activities in two days). We joined them for the full day Napo tour and really enjoyed the day but we were very rushed and had no idea what activity was next. At the end of the day, the four of us were left alone at the river bank for 45 minutes waiting for he bus while the guides took the rest of the group to another location. They do serve food, but it's not a restaurant, it's just one meal offered. That said they did an amazing job catering to my dietary restrictions and the pricing was very reasonable. The staff were helpful, but they were too few doing too much for too many for too long. The same guys did breakfast,, drove the boats, did the tours, cleaned rooms and then were on dinner duty. We tipped them well as they worked hard. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows were mouldy, the shower was hot but faucets leaked, sheets and towels were fresh washed but the elastic corners were gone in all the bedding and the towels were worn and had holes in them. Overall, you get what you pay for and this is a budget friendly option in a remote area. If you're on a budget, it's a good option that you won't regret but don't go expecting frills.

Thank you for your feedback. We will improve the recommendations that you suggest. But we need to clarify the following. Living in the rainforest we need to be very conscious about the negative impact of our operation, that is sacrificing unnecessary extravagant luxury accommodations that are not part of the rainforest conservation.We are a family that help each other through the day. And if you have seen one of us doing different tasks of work it’s because we are a team that help each other where is needed to deliver a proper and professional service. In regards to the guides leaving you all alone we must clarify that you were in a waiting area when the tour was finished and it took a few minutes for the shuttle to pick you up, is not true that you were left alone.The tour desk offered you several choices of different tours available, but you decided to make it as cheap as possible. In your case a very convenient price was offered to join another group that you agreed on, but at the same time we offered you separate tours for an affordable price that you rejected. We want to thank you for your visit to help the rainforest conservation and to contribute to the well-being of the people that made your wonderful experience possible.

The owners Roberto and Karen are absolutely wonderful. They offer amazing activities for a great price. Breakfast is included but lunch and dinner are available for a great price on site. The food is wonderful. There is a large pool that is great to swim in. The roads in the area are great for running and walking. The place is situated in a lovely area.

A real jungle feeling. The staff are trying their best to help you find the best expirience, nice to swim in a big and clean swimming pool, in the middle of the jungle

Publié le 1 janv. 2018 sur HotelsWe had a really nice stay at Grand Selva. The family who runs it is fabulous! Our kids had a great time playing together with their family. They were very welcoming. The meals were wonderful. The pool is one of the nicest we've experienced in Ecuador. The grounds where we stayed had a lot of exploring options for the kids and Roberto, the owner even helped our son fish in the bond and check out all of the nature on the grounds. We also set up tours with them for surrounding areas which I recommend. Roberto is very knowledgeable and willing to let us ask questions. He went above and beyond! The ONLY down side was the internet was very hit or miss. However, the owners were working really hard to fix it and even offered us a free night for the inconvenience. We would definitely recommend staying here and may make this an annual place to stay for our family for our jungle adventures! Thanks for the hospitality!
