They are renovating the property but everything is nice and very clean. The staff were amazing and the food was excellent. We went diving a few times right from the resort and had a blast, it was very convenient to leave right from the resort and only a 5-10 minute boat ride to go out and dive. And of course we saw many sea turtles including a momma come up on the beach one evening to lay her eggs!

They put us far away in a section that was mostly under construction. When we arrived there was a leak outside our closet. They patched the leak, not sure how since it was actively raining at time. Our tv never worked but we didn’t complain because we weren’t really there to watch tv. WiFi was fine. The food was okay, our 6 year old loved the pool. We actually ate at the snack bar by the pool a lot. The sushi bar was great but was a super duper long wait. Sometime took awhile for them to bring water to our room. The service we received from staff was mostly excellent. We liked the live music. Overall the resort is fine and the beach was beautiful, but they do really need some updates. I think we would stay there again and hopefully get a better room.

This was my first time at a resort. I loved the all-inclusive dining options, pools, spa, and, of course, the close proximity to the beach. The staff was always helpful and friendly. My room was spacious and comfortable, and the view from my personal deck and whirlpool was spectacular.

We were surprised and delighted many times. Our room was comfortable. The massage was different and pleasant. There was not loud music at the main pool everyday which we appreciated. My only complaint would be that although the food was plentiful, it was not all that flavorful. The poke bowls and the sushi rolls were our favorites.

We loved the food and activities at Akumal Bay. It was close to other activities too if you want to snorkel etc. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff were very helpful.

This was a 2nd trip to Akumal Bay Beach & Wellness Resort. Both times were amazing. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Food was good, rooms were clean. Can't wait until our next trip
