Room needed a deep clean, some mold in spots in the sink and bathtub. Food was subpar, other than a la carte dinners. Access to food and drinks around beach was denied to Coba Guests. Pools were great, but no parents allowed up on the water park with your child. Bar service was great.

This was our 8th time staying at the Grand Bahia Principe resort, 4 time specifically at Coba. GBP continues to live up to our expectations for consistently good service and food. All of the staff from the buffet (shout out to Jose, Antonio, Aure and their teams for making us feel like family), the beach bar tenders, the lobby bar servers, and the a la carte servers were friendly and attentive. The buffet has good variety daily. Some a la cartes were better than others, which is normal for most hotels. We really enjoyed the food and decor at Hindú Restaurant Thali, which we hadn't tried during previous stays. Mediterraneo was food was good, though the space could use a refresh. We liked the decor of Tequila, but were not sold on the buffet-like concept, as the previous sitdown menu included more variety. Some of us had better meals than others at Le Gourmet (lamb was good, steak not so much). The hotel still has a more authentic Mexican feel given the room finishes and common area designs; however, if you're expecting a modern-style hotel, this is not the place for you. The hotel has a great waterpark for those with kids. Overall, we feel we received good value for the $ spent and would return for a similar price.

The grand entrance was welcoming. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and provided above and beyond service. The pools were beautiful. The dancing entertainment was really fun. We did not like that reservations were full at every restaurant every night of our stay, but when we requested a restaurant for a birthday dinner they found a way to accommodate us and then made it special. They also put in our room champagne, chocolate and a birthday door sash that was such a nice surprise. We loved our stay.

We went for my son’s wedding and had about 20 people in total. The dining room staff were really good. The food was also good. Most of the restaurant staff were also good. All the wedding staff were also good. My son did have a problem at the poolside bar as a couple employees were rude. He asked for bottled water for his pregnant wife. They told him to go to oxxo instead of advising him where to get on resort.They were extremely rude. My husband and I also went to same bar and had a similar experience. They just were not pleasant. Some of the other guests with us said the same thing didn’t feel like the service was friendly.The other bars were fine. Someone from the hotel called and apologized for the bad service and told us she was sending something very nice to our room in the morning to change our experience. She said we would enjoy it very much so at this point we were satisfied and appreciated the gesture however nothing arrived in room so three days later we went to guests services and then they said they would Send something to room.(bottle of sparkling wine). The wine did not arrive. Hotel sent us four strawberries on a plate . This didn’t really help us to change our experience. I am not sure why this took four days and why it would be four strawberries when we came for a wedding with 20 people who have spent a lot of money. Improvements could be done at check in. We were just given our room key. There was no explanation of anything. No lock for safe given.

Everything was perfect and the staff were awesome...also the food options were really good. Except for the slippery floors when it rained. As we tried to walk carefully, we still experience slipping. We have slipped and fell various times during our stay. Luckily we didn't break our necks. Just some scratches my both adult sons got from slipping on the wet steps. Bring some slip resistant shoes/sandles. I hope they apply some slip resistant coating on the tiles or replace them with outdoor slip resistant tiles on their next remodel.

I am one to not write a bad review, but this was one of the worst experiences in my life of traveling. First my wife and I chose this place for our 25th Wedding anniversary. Upon arrival the driver went to the wrong airport, we had to pay additional for a taxi to the resort. We were not greeted, our bags weren't handle by any bell boy. Then when checking in no apologies for concierge or accommodations. Finally we get to our room, no banner to celebrate us for our anniversary. REQUESTED in advance. 2 days later it was placed. Every dining area we wanted to eat at was booked. Then the water in our room was turned off. Not to mention I am a travel agent and this was totally unacceptable for me. Will I recommend this place absolutely not. Asked front desk for accommodations, they directed us to guest services, who directed us back to the front desk. A total run around. We spent most of our vacation complaining about the trip rather than enjoying one another. Thank Bahia for a horrible experience...

We really enjoyed this resort. Everything was clean, very friendly and helpful staff, food was good, pools were great and close to beach. We did find that there could have been more events happening during the day.
